Predictions for Turkey Tournaments

So...judging from all the games this year, Loyola (who has set up the tournament to allow them an easy path to the championship) will play the winner of the semi final, between Fenwick and NTG, in the championship. I will guess NTG gets Fenwick this time with a score of 3-1. (Obviously could be wrong about this considering the record of Fenwick against NTG this year) And then NTG will win big against Loyola in the championship game. (Last year was it 8-1 in the championship?...I could be wrong) And in a less elaborate prediction I will say Rockford runs away as the champions in the Stevenson tournament just like they did in the Prairie Ridge Tournament.

Please let me know how accurate you think my predictions are. Please refrain from talking trash about any teams. I don't want to hear about how much you hate NTG/Fenwick/Rockford/Loyola/or any other team. If you disagree simply tell everyone what your predictions are. (HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!)

Sounds like the guy who started this is hating on a loyola a little bit (which is funny because they said they didnt want to hear about how other people hate schools) in thinking NTG is gunna "run away" with the loyola game. Come on now, NTG tied prarie ridge and loyola beat prarie ridge by a convincing margin. It's anyones game between NTG, Loyola, St.Rita, and Fenwick. If you didnt play real hockey growing up please dont talk about it, your just polluting the minds of the rest of the ignorant hockey parents on this forum

Thanks in Advance

I am not hating on Loyola. In fact i said they were going to make it to the championship. Sorry if your so insecure about your son's team that you feel like my prediction is targeting you. I never said anything about Loyola that I didn't give reason for. Soooo best of luck to your team. In the future respond with a prediction instead of just sounding like an angry dad. If you are so convinced Loyola is going to win just post in on the forum and also go ahead and put a score prediction for a game that might not even happen. Thank you for all the concern you have about with what I said. Hope you had a pleasant thanksgiving!

GBN beat Rockford in the finals 4-2. They also won out their bracket which included Marian, Highland Park, and Providence. They also took care of Stevenson in the semi-finals, knocking them out of their own tournament.

As much as i hate to admit it GBN must have played a good game in handling rockford 4-2. Heard the Queen made a spectacle of herself with a few bench minors in this tourny. Amazing how a school that has had a strong reputation in so many ways allows the bluehawk/gbn hockey program to continue to employ a piece of trash like ''THE GREAT MARK BRUNNER".

Kudos to GBN on the win. However, they were out shot 3 to 1 and completely dominated. Unbelievable goaltending by GBN and the Orange cone is still in net for Rockford.

I think you may been watching a different game that I was watching. You may have had more shots, however you certainly didn't have more Quality shots.

At the beginning of the game you may have had advantage, however in the third period you no way dominated the game, in fact GBN had the advantage.. You may have forgotten when you had a 5 on 3 you couldn't score.

Maybe you should discuss the game with your coach and players for taking a team for granted.

It least Rockford's coaching staff has class. The GBN family should be completely embarrassed about the lunatic coaching there kids.

Just saw the lineup, that is an ugly Metro North tournament plus Rockford. Loyola had the class of the state with green, gold, st rita and fenwick.

Anyone that knows Hamilton knows they are down. Other than that you had who - Marion?

we beat a number 2 team in CS. Kind of funny how these CS kids at our school think there good because they play it, when we beat their better teams.

I am speaking of Rockford of course.

Or... you could talk to your players about being classless little cry babies who play dirty at the end of games when they lose to better teams. gbn clearly dominated the game after the first period.

shot 41-11
gbn never "dominated"...never got more than 4 shots in a period
gbn goalie best in state hands down (yes i am including NTG)
and if you are a gbn player/fan and saying that out of those 41 none of them were quality scoring chances you are really just taking credit away from your goalie who made some amazing saves
that goalie will win a lot of games for them
anddd will give them a good chance of winning it all at the end of the year
fenwick and ntg will have some trouble with that goalie

I dont know what others think but it seems that fenwick and ntg are clearly alone as the top teams in the state. They've battled it out all 3 times they've played this year, and for the most part seem to beat/dominate all other teams.

Since, you were counting shots, can you give us the break down by periods. Also, of those shots, how many were quality shots.

Depending on which team stays the healthiest, I would say NTG,Fenwick, Rockford, and Rita are the top 4 teams. Now, I haven't seen GBN so I will hold out my inclusion of this team until they play the rest. They beat Rockford, but can they beat the others? Time will tell.

If you are talking about AA Club teams then you can count Rockford but this is a HS thread so the State Champion contenders in order are:

Likely UC Match up
1. Fenwick clearly the best at this stage of the season
2. New Trier

Next Group of longshot contenders
3. Loyola
4. St Rita

Dangerous teams that can compete with the big boys but probably not deep enough to make it to the UC
5. GBN
6. Prairie Ridge
7. Barrington

Honorable mention
8. Marist
9. St. Viator
10. Lake Forest

I have to agree with your rankings, we'll see how they look a few months from now but NTG and fenwick to me are by far the best teams with fenwick edging out new trier right now

Shots were 41-11? I doubt there is much room to crow about "quality" scoring chances with that much disparity. When one team dominates, it is common to see scoring chances for the other team as the dominant team tends to get sloppy at the blue line in the O zone. Just because they get sloppy and gave up some 2-1's does not give room for the dominated team to crow. I didn't see this game, just a generalization.
