| Green on five game losing streak. That hasn't happened since last century. |

Green has lost to one IL Red Division Team all year. Rita 2-1 in double OT at Thanksgiving. They lost to CBC and 4 prep schools of which 3 were Canadien schools. Nice try on your slam of Green. |

You mean because they are not playing schools with half their enrollment they are losing? Makes sense. Have way more people to choose from than most of the schools they play, what an advantage. |

Doesn't matter that they have only one loss. They don't have that extra jump this year. They were a machine for the last 14 year and would go out east and compete and beat the east coast schools. Beat culver a and lfa and Detroit catholic. |

I think it does matter that they have only one loss to a red division team. They seem to be down a bit this year, but they are still a team that could make it to the UC. They are no longer clearly the number one team and so people think they suck, but they could be the best team.
I wouldnt want to see them in the state playoffs. Viator is a good team and i think they will get t the UC. St rita and stevenson are also very good teams. The playoffs will be fun this year. There seems to be some good parity among top teams this year. |

I find it an unusaul precedent, but I agree with Snippy. There is a much deeper concern, for an NTG supporter, that they have six ties in 3 Red Division games(St. Viator twice and LAG once), and 3 MM games( Chargers twice and Rockford once). These were in the win side of the ledger for past NTG teams.
Regarding the loses. Yes they lost to St. Rita (Red Division) once, but two losses to Waubonsie (Combined Division) was unheared of in years past.
I also think that summarily dismissing those 4 losses to Prep schools is both ironic and duplicitous when legions of past NTG posters ridiculed LAG for playing those same teams year in and out and getting pounded. Can't have it both ways.
NTG is still a favorite to make it to the UC in March, but the odds are not as assuring as in the past. When one talks of the dynasty of past State Championships, and two National titles this current situation just doesn't cut it.

Exactly!!! Which is tool? I hate that Green dominated HS Hockey for so long or I'm glad they are not as good in years past? Pick a lane and stay in it! The fact that will never be broken 9 state championships and now 2 national championships will never be broken so suck it. |

Actually it's better for high school hockey for green to be great as the hatred level is always great when they are great. If every team was just ok then who really cares?
Fans come to see their team beat green. It's party time when it happens. Right now nobody cares one way or the other.
Where's Sarah teuting when you really need her? |

Yea your hands must have trembling when you were typing and agreeing with me but on the other hand the loyola in you must have overwhelmed any consternation on your part.
Maybe your favorite team will end their drought this year? Seeing how dj coached my kids that wouldn't really bother me. |

Green could compete with LFA... but putting Culver prep in the same sentence as LFA is ridiculous as Culver Prep is at least 5 goals better. |

Green knocked LFA out of LA Thanksgiving Tourny two years in a row. That was in 04 & 05. Green used to play Culver A and beat them in the 01-02 seasons. Green also tied Shattuck's Prep team in 01 so you should learn a little history before you make statements like that. LFA would beat green by 5-7 goals this year. |

NTG played in the Culver A tournament in the 01-02 season, which is where they played shattucks prep, but they never played against Culver A

Green just finished getting destroyed by teams from the MPHL (LFA who has been dominating the league so far this season 8-1 did not play them).
As far as Culver prep being that much better than LFA “ I don’t think so’! . They have played some of the same teams and both have won with comparable scores. Since that is about the only yard stick available it would be a good game not a four or five goal shackling like what LAG gets in that league. | |
