its always good fodder to speculate
Sandburg: great talent, may get more next season; coaches are gone; any players follow?
Rita: if Bubba is Faron, he's a senior. They return great players but will lack depth next season. Still, they are coached well and will compete
as evidenced from BC, CCHL is best overall league, not MN. They are 1 & 2 overall though
HP will not be back, best players (minus 1) are gone
Providence has a boatload of talent but no direction; cant win big games
Benet not mentioned??? they have developed a great feeder program through Sabres and possibly AAA. They should be top 10
Loyola, GBN and NTG: re-load, they will all be top 10
Hinsdale? Has alot of players at the school, if they get them on the roster they will be tough
Barrington, good program; same with Viator; they will be tough but may not be as good as this year; look for one to drop off, if not both
wildcards? Prarie Ridge? Losing lots of guys. Fenwick? will be better next season
as I said, fun to speculate, not trying to offend any prgrams |

gbn returns a goalie, 5 out of 6 forwards from top 2 lines and 4/6 dmen should be pretty damn good |

1. Sandburg- Saulters returns carried the team this year and they're only losing one senior, also adding a couple new AA players. prediction- lose at the UC
2. LAG- Great this year not losing much predicition- state champs
3. GBN- Same as LAG surprised they didnt go farther but i think they'll have the experience. prediction- final 4
4. Benet- great program this year. lost Coyne but they work very hard and wont lose muhc. great jv team and i hear a lot of good freshmen coming in.prediction- elite 8
5. Providence- barely lose any still have best forwards and dmen. goaltending is always a problem. great jv team prediction- final 4
6. Rita- if Bubba (burchette) stays he can carry the team but theres talk hes going to the NA ao we'll see- prediction elite 8
7. Fenwick- only thing they lost were a few skilled seniors who were always suspended or in the box. strong jv team and i hear they have a few aa and aaa kids from the school playing next year. prediction sweet sixteen
8. Hinsdale Central (if aa and aaa players play again)- as i said only if their aa and aaa kids play again if not they will suck and get eliminated right away like they did this year. prediction- sweet sixteen
9. Viator- lost linzing but think about it he took a lot of penalties and was suspended a lot and they still won a ton of games with out him. not to mention they'll still have decker and a lot of skilled forwards. prediction- sweet sixteen
10.NTG- theyre done lost 14 seniors i believe and NTB sucks. but its NTG they always find a way.prediction- elite 8 |

When is the last time NTG didn't make the final 4? I can't remember. Every year they graduate a ton of seniors but every year they still are ranking top 3 in state. Green takes more seniors than every other school because they have better programs to develop younger kids. They don't just have varsity and jv, and so the players on blue and even white are playing teams like Rita, Rockford, GBN, Stevenson, Providence, St Viator to name a few. This makes moving up to green no shock for these sophomores and juniors, and the best coach in Illinois only makes it easier. On a completely different note, there are about 6-7 CYA freshman and sophomores who may play for NT next year. They will be top 2 or 3. Period. |

In most years I would agree with you but last years NTB Team was Brutal. Explain to me how "bad" players become "good" 6 months later by putting on a Green Jersey? It doesn't work like that. When Blue is "good" then Green is good the following year. Blue was bad and now Green will be bad. |
|
Anonymous (no login) 24.13.150.135 | Re: things will changeNo score for this post | March 31 2012, 8:14 AM |
it doesnt really matter whether ntb is all that great as a team. you take the returning green players, add the best blue and white players and a couple new kids and there you go. and blue was a top 4-5 in metro north this year. how were they so bad? the guy that mentioned that there might be as many as 6-7 kids coming from cya is correct. plus white was load with about 15 freshman so i expect grren to be dominate again as early as next year.
|
|
Anonymous (no login) 99.135.144.244 | Re: things will changeNo score for this post | March 31 2012, 9:20 AM |
NTB was not 4 or 5. They finished in 6th place. The worst finish ever by a NTB team. Fact.
NTB's top scorer finished 29th overall and NTB's 2nd leading scorer finished 41st in scoring. All this information is on Metro North website. So no, taking NTB's "top" players does not equal greatness on Green for next year. Green also will have average goaltending at best.
Green will be a top 8 team next year. There are just too many teams who return all or most of their players that either beat or gave this years Green team a heck of a game. Unless Melton can work his magic it will be a tough year on the North Shore. Oh, and those AAA Freshman / Sophomores? They are 5'8 and weigh 130lbs. They won't help Green next year maybe in 2 years and if they were legitamete AAA they wouldn't be coming back to NT. |
|
Anonymous (no login) 24.13.150.135 | Re: things will changeNo score for this post | March 31 2012, 10:59 AM |
someone here had sandburg number one going into next season because of a certain player and that they had just about everyone back. i watched green play sandburg at the end of the year and the kid that was so great did nothing and green won 6-0 or smething close to that. people just don't get it. green combines three varsity teamd every year into one team. from all the parts they put together a pretty competitive team that is ranked number one most every year. same with gold. they combine two teams. they are always good.
green won't have a goalie problem for the next three years. the freshman on white came up and shut out fenwick this year. there's your starter.
and all the cya kids are 5 8 and 150 pounds? lol ok pal.
I hope all the other hs teams are loaded next year. the more competition the better.

New Trier Blue was not great this year but don't forget that they did move on out of the metro north round robin playoffs. The two teams in the Championship this year (Viator and Rita), blue played. They lost to Rita by 1, Viator by 1, and also tied Viator. Not to mention beating teams like GBS and HP, and losing by 1 to GBN. Sure they lost to teams like Deerfield and Maroon but this was due to coaching. They were up to the task against good teams and got lazy against bad teams. Melton will whip them to shape. The seniors on the team were all the worst players as well. I'm not worried about NTG having an off year at all. |

there is always a group of posters that hope that the end is near for green. every year they are wrong. they lost one of their best forwards and number one goalie this year and were within one goal of making it to the uc. there will be an influx of talent next year that can build on the young group coming up. the goalie from white is there the next three years.
all will be fine moving forward. |

GBN has 6 forwards returning from the Varsity team. The top two lines of JV move up to provide depth. The juniors on JV don't have to be top players, just contributors. There is a lot of scoring coming back and moving up. To add to that, the bantams moving from Northbrook will be the JV team next year. This will provide GBN a nice 3 year run at the UC. |

Naperville North High School had a bad year last year, but they are returning 3 all stars and have 2 goalies they picked up From AA. They have there top 5 leaders in points returning only losing 2 notable players. They will be the team that gets under looked next season and can make a run in the tournament. Not to mention the team from last year beat both Naperville Central and Sandburg who both made it to the elite 8. |

High School Observer (no login) 173.161.56.13 | Darien Spring LeagueNo score for this post | April 20 2012, 10:44 AM |
I was able to catch a couple of games last weekend. I know this is spring, but it gives you a little glimpse into next season.
Naperville North: I know they won two games, but didn't look over powering in the wins (at least the win vs. Neuqua). Will the goalies play for them in the fall? That is a huge question.
Neuqua: Should have won vs. NN. A couple of soft goals cost them. Should be good if they get their AAA kids to play. I think their goalies are both AAA.
Benet: Got killed, but didn't look as bad as the score. Their first goalie struggled. Not sure where all of these great future freshmen were. The 2nd goalie looked very good (future freshman?). They looked small, best player could be the smallest on the team (also future freshman?). Might struggle against the bigger teams.
Hinsdale Central: The best team of the four. I saw some Mission helmets out there, so I'm assuming they are there just for the spring. Where would they be without the Mission kids??? That's the question. |

|
anon (no login) 24.12.118.234 | Handed to them?No score for this post | April 23 2012, 7:49 PM |
If you call a very evenly played 3-1 loss having it "handed to them" then I guess they did. LAG will definitely be looking for offense considering they graduated 8 forwards but that's what spring is for. There are probably 8-10 kids skating with this group that will be with Maroon in the fall. You just can't make too much of what takes place in April. |
|
Anonymous (no login) 24.12.195.139 | Re: Handed to them?No score for this post | April 23 2012, 9:06 PM |
I do agree a little. It wasn't evenly matched but that's beside the point. Spring games don't matter, although some team are actually better in the spring because they get CYA and Mission Kids to play for them. It is however a decent telling of what is to come during the season considering 90-95 percent of spring teams will be the fall team. |
|
Anonymous (no login) 64.53.212.89 | Re: Handed to them?No score for this post | April 25 2012, 7:27 PM |
Naperville North has all there players that will be returning next year in spring. They beat Nequa who had a kid who left to play for the Indy Ice and some sabers AA kid and Nequas goalie is AAA. When they beat South, South had a couple of AAA kids that got shut down by the weaker North Players. They are a team to watch out for next year with almost the whole team being seniors and they have been playing with each other since freshman and sophomore year. |
|
anon (no login) 147.182.5.50 | Spring RosterNo score for this post | April 26 2012, 4:22 PM |
LAG has a spring roster of 30 and they dress 20 for a game (kids playing other sports, etc.). Fall roster should be 20 or fewer. By my math that translates to 66% of the fall roster on any given night in the spring, not 90-95. Time will tell. |

About LAG, LAG would have been the best team in the state with no question. But 4 of lag's top 5 offensive returners are leaving. Also, forsure one and maybe 2 of the best defenseman are leaving. They are going to suck this year. NTG, Rita, Sandburg, and GBN should be the only teams competing for the UC this year. |

From what I can gather is Burchett from Rita made Mission MM, Saulters made Fury MM. Loyola lost a couple kids but Schaeffer did not make CYA and will be back at LAG.
So, GBN and NTG should be 1 and 2.
Fenwick, NN, and LAG 3,4 and 5. St. Viator, Providence, Riya 6,7 and 8. Highland Park 9

Two of the smallest kids on the team.
Prediction: both boys will be on the High School teams which begs the question why pay the extra money to play the same level?
In fact the one going to LFA even if he makes the top team will be playing against Loyola at least twice a year??

Warrick was the best foward on the team and lazario was likely an assistant captain and second liner. Even though this doesn't hurt the team too bad, Loyola loses depth and I'd say this moves them from 2nd or 3rd in state to 5th or 6th |

1. GBN - Solid, Goaltending can be shakey, JV was real good. Good Depth. Team to beat to start year.
2. NTG - Very Good Spring season, lots of offense, Goalies are ??? Might get some young AAA help.
3. Sandburg - lost Saulters which is huge. Dingan is excellent in Goal. added a few other AAA
4. ST. Viator. Lost Decker, huge loss. Still have offnsive fire power. Good coach
5. LAG - Lost Warrick, Lavaserio and a D to Admirals. Good Goalies but lacks offense. always a pretender.
6. Rockford - Breitfuss is back. Good team. Good coach
7. Providence - always young, will be better than last year. Could win Catholic League this year.
8. Stevenson - Small, fast team, lost lots of offense (Fields). Hard working team.
9. Highland Park - Upset not invited in SHL, have something to prove. Coach is a whack job.
10. St. Rita - Losing Burchett just kills them. Still have best Goalie in State. South side Pride.
Honorable mention
Barrington - might surprize some people. always tough to play in that shit box
Naperville North - made lots of noise in Spring, did they retain their players?
Prairie Ridge - Could surprize some. Very inconsistent. Not enough summer information on them. |

Provi: young & hungry
Viator: can score big on anyone
Loyola: best defense & goal tending
Rita: know how to win
NTG: large pool to reload from
GBN: overachievers
Sandburg: gritty with skills
Naperville N.: this is their best chance at a title
Stevenson: the dark horse
Barrington: too high expectations for program resources |

is that your order? Providence #1? Young and hungry? they have 2-3 top players and beyond that they are very average. every year they're going to go somewhere and then they fizzle out. Maybe top 12, not top 5
GBN: ? over achievers or underachievers. They lost in round of 16 last year
all fo the teams listed will be good, but there will be a few suprises that noone saw coming, like Benet and Highland Park last season |

Picked up 2 AAA 97's that will provide depth. 2 NTB players that were out all last year with injuries are back and healthy.
Melton turns average players into productive players in his systems. Spring season was very solid with lots of wins.
I believe they are the early favorite. Remember, I'm saying early as time will tell. I will say this about Green this year. Your team better be fast because this Green Team can Fly.

Loyola - return all but 1 defenseman from last years team. Very strong defensively. Lost 2 top forwards and one D. Won't have much offense. Will need to win the 2-1 games.
Viator - lost their 2 best players. I Don't think they have much. Will be around 10 in rankings.
Fenwick - could be a sleeper. Have one of top 3 goalies in state returning. Picked up some new young players and return a nice nucleus. New coach Kabat played D1 at UIC should make them top 5 or 6. |

All Green teams over the last 15 years can fly. They need to get a goalie who can stop 15 shots a game and they will be fine. The kid that was a freshman last year is probably the Number 1 candidate. |

....you would think....but gbn's tryout numbers never compare to nt...but a couple of years it hasnt mattered...and stevenson usually has double the numbers gbn has at tryouts....but quantity doesnt always translate into the final results....new league should put all of this to the test....there will be some frustration for the former metro north teams early, but may result in better teams late in season... |

Numbers mean shit when your talking about "top" team. Rita won state last year because they had best goalie in state, 2 best forwards in State and a top D. They had 35 kids tryout fir 2 teams. Let me repeat part of that. They had best goalie in state.
When GBN won their back to back ships they had best goalie in state in Will Dodge. Team was good but they don't win state with an average goalie.
What's interesting this year is GBN, NTG, LAG all have avg-good goalies. The best 3 in state are Rita (they will blow), Sandburg (Dingan) and Fenwick (Danna?)

Lets be honest. GBN took a huge hit losing Sanipass. He was one of the only kids in state who you feared to go against because he was just so big, so strong, so fast, and so good with the puck. Without him GBN loses their size advantage and they lose depth because they have to move a second liner up. Not to mention their 4 year varisty starter and now senior captain. GBN was top 3 with Sanipass. Without him they will most likely be sitting in the 4, 5, 6 area. Not to mention their atrocious goaltending. |

You couldn't be more wrong. Sanipass is a nice player but never dominant. Great kid, great teammate and will be missed. As far as GBN as a team there is very limited effect. So big, yes. So fast, no. So good with the puck,no. Leadership, yes. Very popular teammate but limited as an impact player in the biggest games. GBN has plenty left to be a top team |

Sanipass...the most over-rated hs hockey player last year.....big,yes...soft,yes....good hands,no....fast,no....a nice hs player.....disappears in the big games, check the stats... |

... makes no sense...you cant describe one departed player as that influential and the goaltending as atrocious and peg gbn as high as top 5 or 6...they will miss sanipass at the top of the roster....but their depth and goaltending will be fine....is fine good enough? the smart ones out there know that answer comes in march.....c'mon, you dont really want a frank answer to why gbn will be better than last year...they certainly cant finish worse... |

We must not be thinking about the same players. There is no question that all 3 would be impact players during a HS career at Fenwick, and Fenwick actively recruited at least one of them. |

I see a lot of ppl ripping on gbn goalie, please explain how he's "atrocious"? any goalie who makes what should've been a top 5 varsity team as a sophomore can't be atrocious. |

I love how everyone rips on a kid on this site! Sanipass must not have been that bad if he was able to make the Illinois Showcase team as a junior and made the Little Caesars AAA team. Good luck to him up there, but no need to rip on a kid on this site |

Kurt Kabot is the new Fenwick coach. He coached at the Mission with Anders.
As for Sanipass; he needed to move on. He was a gentle giant on the ice and he needed to go into a league where he can use his size and be pushed to be his best. He would have been a factor for GBN but I think this is a good move for him to elevate his game. Good Luck to him. |

I was there for the second half if the game. Bennet looked very good. Two freshmen on the roster. Not sure of they are the aaa kids or not. One freshman had two goals. The other is a goalie and played the third period. He wasn't challenged, but moved well and wasn't afraid to chine out of the net and play the puck. I'm anxious to see them play against better competition. GBN next weekend. That will say a lot about these freshmen and the bennet team. |

The score and the shots were lopsided, but I heard the score was tied after two periods with fairly equal shots and then the Deerfield coach put in his back-up goalie and played all three lines equally in the third which in turn led to the onslaught (which might have happened regardless). Deerfield is obviously not ready for the big time competition, but showed they have some potential. Chargers play Stevenson and NTG this weekend, so we'll how they compare. |

The freshman goalie is double rostered and how can you judge him by watching him stand in the net. He saw no shots. And obviously not making a huge difference considering the varsity team is 2-5. Just because you wear a AAA helmet sticker doesn't mean you are all that. It means mom and dad had the cash to fork over. From what I heard he didn't make the final cut at AAA this year and thats why he is playing HS hockey. |

If you were there watching the games it was the first and second games for everyone. Players still adapting to new players coaches figuring out new players. All games were competitive and teams are still figuring things out.
Watching all the teams that played the best team was Phoenix MM very talented group. With that being said Loyola tied them 1-1 and Pr tied them 3-3. Ranking the talent of the Illinois Hs teams that played I'd go.
Loyola
Green
Gbn
Pr
Stevenson
Providence
Barrington

Your rankings are flawed.
Phoenix MM 1 LAG 1
Phoenix 3 PR 3
LAG 3 GBN 2
GBN 6 PR 1
NTG 4 Provi 1
Provi 6 St. Viator 4
I watched GBN vs PR. PR couldn't get the puck out of there zone vs GBN. Remember too, Loyola has best 6 D in the state. They will not give up many goals. Their offense relies on prayer and luck. They have no offense. Nothing, natta. But they do have defense and will be top 4 in state all year.
I also saw Providence vs NTG. NTG is very balanced and deep. They have one very good line and solid lines after that. D looked good. They are no 1 right now. Providence is a very good team. That score was not indicitive of the game. It was very competitive.
Barrington is weak
St. Viator is weak
Stevenson is weak
Chargers MM is Weak and beat Stevenson 7-2 (or something like that)
1. NTG
2. LAG
3. GBN
4. Prov
5. Fenwick
6. Rockford
7. PR
8. Sandburg
9. St. Viator
10. Highland Park |

WOW!!! The mighty powerhouse HS hockey program Fenwick got THEIR lunch handed to them BIG TIME by the leafs. Think twice next time before setting yourself up for failure.
Fenwick coaches must need a brain, why would you put your players in a postion to only fail?? You can't hang with a CSDHL team. Plus, the Leafs are a low rated CSDHL team. Fenwick is a catholic school, say yopur prayers you didn't play the Chargers, players would have been hauled out on stretchers.

There is no comparison. Even the High school all star Milwaukee phoenix couldn't beat the CS Huskies. The leafs had it easy against the high school teams. At the U16 level Loyola Gold and Fenwick JVs lost to Cyclones midget minor - Yes scores were close but games were not. the refs didn't like big hits and every game had many penalties and even though there were 1 goal games the High School goalies saw a ton of shots. they would never last a season.
For you Central state lurkers in High school stay off this thread. Yes Central states teams are way better but why do you play it at the Major level? Look at the DIII teams and they have both high school and central states players. Unless your high school program blows you should be playing there or AAA. |
|

I don't know what NCAA DIII teams your looking at. If you want to play NCAA DIII you better play Juniors first. That also goes for MN HS. If they don't go directly to DI they play Juniors prior to DIII. For proof look at the DIII rosters for the MIAC (D3),they're based in Minnesota. Some Prep school kids make DIII out East in the MASCAC. |

GBN got lucky? Good one. Gold and GBN would beat the huskies team 8 times out of 10. The Huskies were dirty and if the game had been in Illinois, GBN would of been on the powerplay half the game! Play Gold or GBN on their home ices and see what the final score is. |

Not sure how strong green is this year so to say that green would beat all the MM teams might not be correct. In the past they usually beat them all but all of the games were pretty good games. |

Don't count Sandburg out quite yet just because Saulters isn't returning. Next to Napleton (who was injured most of the summer), Dignan is the best goalie in the state in big games (I.e not against shitty York). They picked up 2 mission kids, Rita's dman from last year, and a couple more depth players. The big indicator will be the Loyola Thanksgiving tourny where all good teams are there. |

Anonymous (no login) 71.239.108.207 | Re: liarNo score for this post | October 2 2012, 9:34 PM |
Hmm that's unusual from NT tho. They can usually roster at least one powerhouse line. Regardless, someone told me Fenwick is just a really defensive minded team. Which I can kinda see from playing them 3 times last year but I wouldn't have thought them to have a strong first line O |
|
Anonymous (no login) 166.137.100.36 | Re: liarNo score for this post | October 3 2012, 4:56 AM |
NTG's top line scored all 3 of their teams goals.
Fenwick scored on 3 breakaways. NT Goalie had a rough night. Shots were 28-12 |
|
anon (no login) 67.176.156.188 | 3 breakawaysNo score for this post | October 3 2012, 8:32 AM |
The NTG goalie may of had a bad night stopping breakaways, but teams get breakaways when forwards & defenders blow assignments, are out of position, or are too slow to cover their zone. Which was it ? |
|
Anonymous (no login) 50.201.16.254 | Re: 3 breakawaysNo score for this post | October 3 2012, 12:04 PM |
Really the NTG defense would get caught looking while they cycled it in the Fenwick zone for 90 seconds. Fenwick would finally get the puck, flick it as high as they can, and a foward would sneak behind the D and score. I would say Fenwick had more ices than shots on net. Time of possession must have been in favor of NTG by about 5:1 ratio |
|
Anonymous (no login) 24.7.251.48 | Re: 3 breakawaysNo score for this post | October 3 2012, 1:38 PM |
yea NTG completly out played fenwick, But as we saw in the NHL if you have a good goalie your gonna have a solid team, Fenwicks breakout was a chip off the glass and pray for a breakaway, NTG still better squad and best in state |
|
Anonymous (no login) 71.239.108.207 | Re: 3 breakawaysNo score for this post | October 3 2012, 2:22 PM |

|
anon (no login) 67.176.156.188 | Re: 3 breakawaysNo score for this post | October 3 2012, 2:25 PM |
If all the Fenwick breakaways were simply a chip of the glass, and the Friars scored on that play 3 times, are the NTG defenders as dumb as a post to be fooled that many times, are their skates sharpened, or can't they skate backwards.
My questions are caustic based on your response that NTG is still superior, dominant, and the best in the state. Really, when they get beat several times and scored on 3 times by a mite level clearing play. Doesn't say much for the quality of Illinois HS hockey does it.

GBN beat Fenwick 4-2 this weekend in Indy. Heard GBN stuck with afton and team ohio, but loses 6-0 to the sabres? Im thinking it was a bad game after a long day of driving and Hockey. id'like to see this matchup for myself. GBNs depth wore the Fenwicks only line down. 2nd and 3rd lines were nothing compared to GBN's. Their first 2 lines are both capable of playing with any teams first line. Could be useful come playoff time. Thoughts? |

Anonymous (no login) 76.16.11.28 | Re: Stevenson GBNNo score for this post | October 16 2012, 9:30 PM |
I think the Sabres had a long drive too, right??? Dont blame the drive. One team was ready, the other team wasnt. Fenwick did win a couple of their games in Indy so... it was a good matchup. I'd say GBN and Fnwick are probably comparable and the season would series would be .500.
Seems the Midget teams are ahead of HS right now, and I'm a HS parent |

So far this year the records are about even between HS and midgets so what does that tell you about midgets this year? Many more kids are making the switch to HS in Illinois especially as they get into their Jr and Sr years. This is what's stupid about IL compared to like Minnesota, if everyone would just play for their HS then it would be such a better system. Playing travel once you go into HS is the dumbest thing ever. There's no need for AA at this age level and Minnesota shows us why. |

Your statement regarding AAA shows that you no nothing about development. You can't hone your skills and talent playing against lesser talent.
It's like trying to prepare for the SATs , ACTs, or College entrance exams by sitting in a Special Education class.
The main goal of AAA hockey is to make a Tier I or II Junior team, and hopefully on to NCAA D1 or D3 hockey. No more than half get that far and way less to the Pro levels.
However, the same rules apply to life. Most graduate HS. Some go on to college . Even fewer graduate college and move on to a professional career where even fewer become tops in their field.
I bet you don't tell your kids to quit after HS, because everyone gets old and ends up in a Nursing Home (The BEER LEAGUE of LIFE). |

Okay yes I agree that AAA and HS are different animals for kids with different intentions for hockey. My original argument in the post above was directed at AA not necessarily AAA. It would be ideal if AAA merged into that system as well but that would be difficult for people's egos to deal with. For the post above, AAA kids would not be playing down to worse skill level IF EVERYONE JUST PLAYED FOR THEIR HS. MORE KIDS THAT PLAY MINNESOTA HS GET DRAFTED THAN ANY IL AAA TEAM EVER. |

You would not want AAA players playing on your team, because they would take the spot of your NIHL bronze skater. AAA at this age is for the elite athlete, ego is not a consideration at this level, and if you ever had a kid that played AAA you would know that. Playing HS over AAA , c'mon now, let's be real, your HS player is going no place, but keep selling him on the experience and keep telling him the you can get a look playing HS, if only he were from Minnesota. |

Yea you know kuz so many AAA kids from IL go so far. On the contrary, go tell your kids that they will make it to the Show and at when they are ready to go to college ask yourself if it was really worth the 8-10 grand you blew every year. A handful of kids from AAA get anything from it. Maybe a D3 scholarship for the average AAA player? Cool, you could have gotten that by worrying more about your grades a less about hockey for the last 4 years. Or better yet, maybe he can go play juniors in some town that no one has ever heard of in the USHL. Sounds like a good time. |

I find this to be hilarious. Nothing like a BSer getting caught in their own mess.
Clarity is something you'll rarely find on the CH Website, and certainly two things are clear.
1) The phrase "they used to play AAA" translates to, "they are not good enough to play AAA anymore".
2) When someone says "I used to play AAA" it means once I reached the Peewee level the checking made me crapp myself and Mommy didn't want to pay for my arse sitting on the 4th line. So I'm going to whine about politics and $$$ putting me in the "Bender League".
Also, they request you stay off of the HS site, because they don't like being called out for the crapp they spew on this or the other threads available on CH.
To the guy that said that 'AAAers going to play juniors in these USHL towns that nobody ever heard of rather than going straight to college'...... if you didn't hear of those towns then you probably failed US Geography 101 and won't be going to college.

It is what it is, but you flip- flop your comments more than Obama and Romney combined.

AAA kids dont come to HS hockey and walk all over any of the teams or players. i played with about 6 or 7 who came to NTG and they weren't anything special. im not saying AAA kids arent good because they are but no way they can come to high school hockey and run it unless they played on the first line of there AAA team. this argument is stupid. AAA is better and i play high school. But highschool is more fun and obviously you get more gummers thats a fact. |

^Yes this could not have been put any better. I wasn't arguing that AAA is worse than HS, my point was that individually a AAA player would not run our league. |

If you are not playing juniors by 16 or 17, chances are you won't be playing at the "next level". |

I heard Dignan pulled his hamstring during the shootout against Provi. Rumors going around he is out until end of November. Sandburg is done now.. Without him, they are nothing. |

Dignan is fine. Good to know you have so much faith in Sandburg tho. They beat Stevenson with backup goalie in. They have one of the most dynamic offenses in the league next to GBN and Fenwick | |
