I had to check the calendar!! Thought it was an April Fools Joke.... Comparing the USHL with the GLHL...Really! That's almost commical.
Here is the commonly accepted skill levels in US Juniors and rought estimates on Collegiate level recruits;

Tier 1. USHL (no cost- 2/3 go NCAA D1, 1/3 D3)
Tier 2. NAHL (Billet Only- 300/mo, 1/3 NCAA D1, 2/3 D3)
Tier 3. EJHL ($7,000-$10,000- 1/3 NCAA D1, 2/3 D3)
Tier 3 ( $7,000-$10,000)
4. NA3HL, AJHL, WSHL, NORPAC, MnJHL ( 1% D1, 15% D3, 50% ACHA D1)
5. GLHL (10% ACHA D1, 50% ACHA D2)

While it may be true that a top team from one tier can compete and beat a lower team above, Generally speaking, this is the order ANY honest coach will tell you. (Some EJHL teams claim superiority over NAHL) and that depends on the team and particular players. Find the best fit for your son and good luck. All these choices can lead to some type of College opportunities..Use the internet and check the rosters of the college program considered and see where their players "last played" prior to college, or check Elite
