I would take a look at ALL of the Mission teams rosters. There is only 1 boys team without a Daddy on the bench. Midget Major.

You need as much or as little money as other teams in the AAA.Mission happens to have it all :Top coach, great talented kids, established record .So you do not have to bring check book, just arrive with a talented son as coach is always looking for few new good ones...

So, at the Mission fall AAA mm tryouts, they cut 3 kids 2X better than the NW AA player. One cut player goes to JRs who frankly was their best tryout player! He is a 96 and was better than every player there! Money? I could not agree with you more!!!!
Word has it, the one Mission cut kid that went to JRs pushed the Wisconsin 'blessed' player to the USHl. Good for him. He is a great player.
Supposedly, the only reason the cut player went to Mission mm...was to square up with the 'blessed' player. But he wasn't there! He is a good player. But so is the cut player!
So anybody that speaks of the Mission being of 'pure selection' are fooled.
Rumor has it, the cut player is better than the blessed player and that the powers that be know it. It's going to be awesome to see that play out!

Interesting, I would agree, the blessed player is likely Schmaltzy. But did Clarke get cut from Mission? Or cut from Fargo? I know Clarke isn't at Fargo anymore! But Clarke was already at Jrs and had no reason to square up with Schmaltzy.
It's probably another player.

You may want to stay in MN if hockey is important to you. Try SSM if in IL then Mission or CYA for Mm AAA or Chicago Blues for AA CSDHL. That's all we have. I would stay in MN

I have had the chance to talk to some MN parents whose kids are playing Juniors this year. I had not had any oportunity to discuss MN hockey prior to this. The 2 biggest points I take away from those conversations are this. 1) The hockey is far less expensive when compared to even AA in Illinois. 2) Both sets of parents pointed out, on their own, the huge difference between the top of the lineup and the bottom lineup in High School. They also went on to say that when they gathered for the after season or off season to play on select teams, this difference was far less noticeable.

You are spot on. I still like MN over IL hockey as a complete package and at this age SSM or ECPHL is great if your kid can play on 1st team.

So what does it run to send a high schooler to SSM for a year? Also I have no idea what ECPHL is, as spendy as SSM? Now money can no longer be the issue as you would be spending WAY more than AAA costs.

ECPHL= east coast prep hockey league. SSM is better hockey but way behind in education so there's a trade off.
