Sandro Aeschilmann looked amazing in net. Local high school kid Nic Albergo has seriously improved from last year, too.

7 or 8 kids made it out of Non-Veteran Camp all the way to the Veteran All Star Games. Veteran D-man Ryan Fraser-Lee didn't make the cut there.

RFL taken by Jainesville Jets (NAHL). Coaches in that league must have a heads up.

There were an above normal number of ushl vets going in the nahl draft. The word must have been out who was on the chopping block.

Most teams won't publish their roster to the public till preseason starts. Mainly cause they still add and drop people throughout the summer. I know that Dubuque, Lincoln, and Muskegon has released their 25 man protected list.

what is your guess at when McConnell will be fired? He has one offensive line and 1 D. But he picked them. I guess Dec 15 December 1

I would take the later. I do not think they will have a terrible start. Some of the kids that played part time last year because they were still in High School will be full timers this year and contribute. I think you will see the Steel move toward a slightly older age wise, less experienced game wise, than the rest of the USHL. This due to the fact they are really trying to put a home grown product on the ice. I for one hope it works.

The Steel will have to bomb hard for McConnell to lose the job. He's worked incredibly hard and had the Steel right on the cusp of the playoffs coming off a 9 win season.

The steel will be a top 3 team in the east this year IMO. Lots of returners, cut a couple veterans to improve depth and Marinanco is back the kid will be a top three point leader in the league this year. I think McConnel will be around for awhile. Hes changing the culture of the club greatly. They also have one of the deepest affiliate list in the league.

Steel are off to their best start since the 2003-04 campaign with a 5-1 start. If they can take both games against Muskegon this upcoming weekend, it'll be the best start in Steel history.

So I think "Steel Head Coach Scott McConnell Fired" isn't a headline we'll be reading anytime soon

But I do know that Dubuque will be MUCH younger. I do expect Green Bay to be very good again.

4. Dubuque
5. Indy
6. Youngstown
7. USA
8. Muskegon

5. Sioux City
6. Fargo
7. Des Moines
8. Sioux Falls

If Tri City keeps Spicer on the roster, that would make for a good matchup during the many times they will play this season.
