Looking for canned BMP load routine

by Teri (no login)

Hi guys --

Hope this is the right place for this -- my apologies if not.

I want to use my somewhat lacking graphics programming skills to write a qbasic program that will digitize selected points of a graphic chart and use those points (and other data) in calculations.

The chart will not be created by the program -- it will be an imported bitmap image that has been scanned or created by other programs. So, one of the first things my program will need to do is to load a bitmap graphics file onto the VGA screen(screen 12). I am sure this is a common thing to do and I don't want to re-invent the wheel, so I am hoping you can point me to a stock routine somewhere. Re-scaling (stretching/Squishing to fill the screen) would be nice, but I can use Paint to resize the BMP to 640x480 beforehand.
