Open Watcom vs. gcc

for 32 bit C89 programs for DOS (gcc=djgpp) and Windows (gcc=mingw).

Which is better, and why? Possible areas would be code size, execution speed, compatibility, ease of use, etc. It seems that everyone uses gcc or msvc. Does anyone here use Open Watcom?

Any thoughts on mingw vs msvc would be welcome also.

P.S., I believe that Heretic was compiled with Watcom, but Quake with djgpp, if i recall correctly. But those were C++ programs, I think.

P.S. This seems like a stupid question, but I'm curious what you guys think...
