The International Tribunal in the Hague with its latest sentence reg. Serbia i Monte Negro might cause both satisfaction and disappointment in the Balkans but once again proved its impartility before all parties involved in the Balkan conflict in the 90s.
Although the families of the Muslim victims from Bosnia and Hercegovina are only partially satisfied with the sentence of the International Court in the Hague they are however satisfied with the fact that the court declared Serbia is responsible for not avoiding the genocide in Bosnia, for not delivering Ratko Mladic and Radovan Karadzic to the International Tribunal for War Crimes and for not punishing those responsible for the genocide.
The lawers who representet BiH at the trial also expressed disappointment with the fact that the responsibility of ex-Federal Republic of Yugoslavia for the genocide was not confirmed.
The EU council expressed satisfaction with the verdict which undubtedly will contribute to the peace process and reconciliation in the Balkans.
