To any of you having attended this clinic I am sure you would agree with me, what a wonderful and inspiring woman Robin is. She is so calm and straightforward in her teachings and they make immediate sense. Robin is the sort of person who makes you realise that the only handicap you have is in your mental attitude to life and what you are doing. She has been a pleasure to meet and I look forward to her dressage clinic at Balmoral tomorrow.
Keep up the good work Carola,.......:-) You are enabling people here to meet some excellent clinicians whom we would otherwise not be able to meet with.
Yes, I spent the whole last week with Robin and it has been a very special time for me.
Again: Without my sponsor, Kurt Hartelt of Ray White Chelsea this would not have been possible. I am very lucky and I am glad that I could share this privilege with some of you.
I will work on the clinic-report this week and will let you know when it goes "on air" -watch this spot.
I would just like to say thank you for giving me the opportunity to learn from someone like Robin. I found it inspiring and though provoking.
I came away from yesterday's clinic at Balmoral thinking that everything that Robin taught us was not 'new', but the way good horsepersons should communicate with their horses. The simple exercises really made me sit back and think about the 'loud' aids we are taught to give our horses through our training and instruction, and considering they can feel the smallest fly land on them, why shouldn't we all ride with 'soft' aids?
Look at how much happier horse AND rider proved to be yesterday.
So, thank you again Carola, and thank you Robin. Please keep me informed if you plan to come to Australia again.
It was great to work with an instructor who speaks in plain English and is able to put something that can seem complicated in simple, easy to understand terms.
She was a guide to riders but at the same time, allowed us to discover what makes our horses tick.
I have found the "soft arms" concept particularly helpful in my riding since the clinic.
