I have been riding for a long time now and have started working on some dressage movements, I think I have mastered most of the ones I have tried but now I have almost came to a stop. could you please give me a list of lateral or other movements to try, and a proper dressage routine to work up to. This would be a great help to me and would make dressage a lot easier and more fun.

thanks a million

Hev

Hev, I've tried half a dozen times to compose an answer for you but not knowing what you've tried and what you are aiming for its a little hard. I think the best advice would be - get an instructor to help you. It really is important to have eyes on the ground
and someone with the knowledge to point you in the right direction. A good instructor will be able to help you establish what you've tried, correct where necessary, give you a lot of things to work on and from that you will establish a routine. Good luck and happy riding:-)

Indeed it's hard to give you a recipe for a training routine without having seen you or your horse.
Generally, your riding sessions should consist of a warming-up/suppling phase, a schooling phase and a cooling down phase.
I agree with jp: Find a knowledgable instructor who will plan the lessons with (for) you and your horse as required and ask him/her for an exercise regime for "in between lessons".

Also, there are many good textbooks that might give you inspirations as "where to go from here".
(I believe the BHS has a well written manual)

Happy riding!
Carola
