Did service in Japan during the Korean Conflict, qualify a Marines for the Korean and UN Medals?

(and FMAW)arriving in Japan Aug 1953 and thereafter were entitled to the KSM/UN/NatDef, and, at that time, the PUC was worn by all 3dMarDiv members w/30 day 3dMarDiv service and for 30 das after leaving 3dMarDic--I do not recall what the cutoff date was on these.

As I recall when I was there at both Middle Camp and North Camp Fuji we were told that we were not to wear the Korea Service, U.N. ribbon as we were not participants in the conflict. Only those who actually were on Korean soil at the time were qualified. Now... that is what we were told. If that isn't the case then I would be proud to have it. Semper Fi, Marine!
