After arriveing at Camp Pendleton,from Camp Lejeune 10th Marines 2nd
Mar.Div.in 1954.After a few liberty`s in Oceanside, and L.A. We boarded
the USS Black from San Diego and sailed some choppy seas for 28 days.
Arriving in Kobe Japan,I then was sent to Camp Nara, with the 4.2 Mortar
Co.4th Mar. 3rd Mar. Div.Our C.O. was Capt. Powell.At 18 yrs. old it
was quite an experience,spent some time at Camp McNair Tent Camp,and
Okinawa.Lots of great memories,took little money to have some great
libertys,still look back,and wonder what some of my old buddies are
doing these days,I ended up going to Kaneohe Bay,Oahu in 55,then back
to Lejeune to Brig Co. M.P. Battalion,56-&-57 finished my tour,and back
to N.J.I graduated Parris Island 1953 Platoon 246 D.I.`s
Pfc.Freed,Pfc.Ashe, and Sgt.Veroi,Anybody out their! would love to hear
