The Academy's Story Board

Hello cadets! This is the place where all the fanfics go (it makes them easier to follow if on a separate board). The same rules apply here as they do on the other forum, so stick to them and everything will be ok.

And don't forget, if anyone has any suggestions on how to make this forum a better place, then please say so.

Anyway, happy storytelling!

Going Forward To Go Back, Part 6

by Neila

Good Morning, All

Alrighty then...I last left off with Eric screaming at Neila because he thought she was supposed to be in an amazon scene and she was messing it up. Ryan comes to the rescue and tries to straighten it all out. The truth finally gets told that Neila is just a visitor to the set.

Let's see what happens now...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Neila followed them over to a lot just over from the one where they were filming the amazons. She sat down next to a rock that had been cast off the set earlier.
“OK, let’s start the scene at the beginning,” Chris said.
“Fine by me,” Dean agreed.
“Let’s go,” Ryan added.
Chris stood in front of both of them and said, in a sneering voice, “I will be in charge of the academy while Cheiron is away. Now, let’s get started with the morning workout.”
The three of them started doing leg stretches. “Where did Cheiron go?” Dean asked getting into his character.
“He got called home by his Kindre,” Ryan replied doing the same thing.
“Maybe he’s in trouble,” Dean said. “Maybe he needs our help.”
“What? You think we should follow him?” Chris wanted to know, playing his character.
“Well, it is Friday,” Dean explained, “and we won’t be missing anything.”
Chris got the sneering voice back again. “I don’t hear enough sounds of warming up.”
The three looked at each other and said, “This is us leaving.”
Ryan broke form and said, “Ok, let’s skip to the part where the amazons have captured us.”
“How are we going to get out of here?” Chris asked getting back into character. “Amazons don’t like men. They’ll kill us.”
“I’m going to break these bars,” Ryan told him. “And then,…”
“What?” Neila interrupted them. She narrowed her eyes and had a very confused look about her. “What are you guys talking about? ‘Amazons don’t like men.’ That’s not entirely true. ‘They’ll kill us’? That’s not what happens.”
Dean, Chris, and Ryan just stared at her for a moment. “What would you know about that?” Chris asked her. “You don’t even know what we’re doing.”
“Let me ask you one question, guys,” Neila began. “Who are the characters you’re playing?”
“I already told you I’m playing Jason of Corinth,” Chris replied.
“I’m playing Iolaus,” Dean told her.
“And I play Hercules,” Ryan said.
Neila looked at Ryan with a combination of shock and confusion. “You knew you were retelling the life of my brother and you didn’t say anything to me about it?”
“What should I have said?” he asked back.
“OK, I’m now completely confused,” Dean threw out. “Neila, what are you talking about?”
“You could have said anything,” Neila spoke to Ryan, totally ignoring Dean. “But now that it’s out, do you want to know what really happened or do you want people to be misinformed?”
Ryan asked her seriously. “Do you mean to tell me that you recognize the scene we were doing?”
“Yes,” she answered him. “My brother told me all about it. For one, Prince Jason was never captured by the amazons. He stayed at the academy running the training drills that afternoon. The amazons, along with Lilith because she joined the tribe, captured only Hercules and Iolaus and they didn’t hurt them. They were taken to Princess Cyane.”
“How did you know the name of the character for the amazon queen?” Chris eyed her curiously, finally breaking into their discussion.
Neila looked at Chris then back at Ryan. “Maybe now is as good a time as any to tell them what we were going to tell them anyway,” she said.
“Maybe you’re right,” Ryan agreed.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
So what are Ryan and Neila going to tell Dean and Chris? (As if you don't already know! )
I'll post more later.
THE CELT
by
A ship coasted along the gentle swells of the open sea. A young man stood at the railing all though his thought were anywhere but on the sunrise. The young man had brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing and emerald green shirt with a Symbol woven into it on his wrists were a couple of dark brown leather manacles each of them had a Celtic symbol in silver weave, but the each one also had an emerald in them. Emotions raced in the boy’s eyes as the memories of his past came to him again.
Flashback:
The screams of women and the agonized cries of wounded men filled the air of the small village in the land of Eire (Ireland) black-hooded bandits had swept down on the village in a surprise attack. A small blonde girl clutched the boy who was her best friend as the attack raged.
Suddenly a particularly rough looking hooded man saw them. His eyes took on an evil leer. He came over and grabbed the girl
“This is a pretty one he said she’ll do nicely as a house slave.”
“I think you’re right Jo-kar.” Said another hooded man who was with him
“Don’t use my name, imbecile!!” snapped Jo-kar
“Connor!!” the girl cried struggling to get away.
Connor jumped on the man and tried to fight him but there was not much that a 12 year old can do against a mercenary. Connor was thrown mercilessly to the ground and the last thing that he saw was a sword blade descending toward him.
When Connor awoke he found himself in a place unlike anything that had seen before. There were a group of people standing around him dressed in hooded white robes; they were also wearing silver masks which had emeralds in the eye holes.
“We are the Druids,” said one of them as they removed their masks, “The guardian spirits of Eire, we have brought you back and what we have brought back no mortal can kill. Strength and speed of body and senses are also given you. Come brother Celt be a warrior of light.”
-END FLASBACK-
Connor who now stood on the ship began to smile as he remembered the six years that he spent with the druids the taught him to fight and fight with honor. Once it came time for him to leave the secret place. He had embarked on a quest to find the friend that he had lost all those years ago and to bring the slavers to justice.
He remembered the name Jo-Kar and the voice that spoke it. There was something very familiar about that voice. The only clue to the man’s identity that he had was the fact that Jo-Kar was a Greek name. That is why he now sailed for Greece.
* * * * *
Connor made his way up through the woods along the trail to the border of the province of Corinth his cloak billowing in the slight breeze as he went. Anxious to reach the next Inn before sundown he cut through the wooded area in a bend in the road.
He walked right past a funny looking sign. It looked as though someone had put some ribbons and a bull’s skull up on a post. Connor hardly gave it a second look. Suddenly a shrill cry pierced the peaceful woodland air. A string of arrows struck in front of Connors feet.
On the nearby trail Hercules, Jason and Iolaus heard the cry and began to run toward it, they new that the cry meant that the Telequire Amazons were in another fight.
The Amazons almost flew coming down from the trees on the end of their ropes. Connor stood there calmly.
“Get off our land, man.” Snarled Ledeia, the Amazon who was leading this hunting party turned war-party, as she waved her sword in Connor’s face.
“I mean no harm,” said Connor, “I only wish to pass and go on my way.” Connor’s calm demeanor enraged the impulsive Amazon. She lunged forward and ran Connor through with the sword in her hand.
Hercules, Jason, and Iolaus arrived on the scene just in time to see this happen. Connor slumped to the ground.
“Ledeia,” said Hercules running up cooking Connor, “what have you done?”
“I have protected Amazon land,” snorted Ledeia.
“Cyane will not approve of this.” Hercules snapped
“what do you know of our queen?” sneered Ledeia
“More than you do,” retorted Hercules, “and I intend to report this to her as soon as I bury this body.”
Hercules turned and stooped down and picked up the body. lifting the body quickly and easily to his shoulder he gave ledeia one last dirty look and walked off down the trail.
*
the Cadets stood for a moment looking down at the grave of the mysterious young man. then finally Hercules squared his shoulders and head off to have his promise talk with Cyane. a few hours later Hercules, Iolaus, and Jason walked into Kora's and promptly stopped dead in their tracks there sitting at the bar camly eating a plate of fried fish was the boy that they had buried that afternoon!
"who is this guy," said Iolaus
"i think," said Hercules, "that the better question would be what is he?!"
Letters Home #1
by Alex
Disclaimer:No,I don't own any of the characters of YH (darn it),all I can do is have fun with them.
Story Disclaimer:The only injury reported during the writing of this story was Iolus putting his eyes back in his head.
Dear Mom,
Hello from your loving son,Iolus.How are you doing?
Well,you might wonder what this letter is about,but Cheiron is making me write this to let you know I'm still alive(Might not want to let Skurous-er-Dad know that though).
The good news is-nobody was killed or seriously injured,although Fiducious was muttering something about me being a very old person by the time I'm off detention.
It all started when Herc wanted to get Zeus' attention (again!)so he tried talking to a group of nymphs that live in the woods near the academy.Anyway,they took it into their heads to come see Herc at Academy.Just for the record,Mom,I was NOT INVOLVED in the fight that took place when the other cadets tried to get close to them,I prefer to pick up the pieces aferwards..Sorry,I got a little carried away there.
I was actually in Chemistry when they came to visit,and as I was trying to se who they were,I accidentilly (did I spell that right?)tipped my experiment over.
The Academy,I am pleased to say is still standing,although some very small outside buildings were leveled in the explosion.
I tried to explain to Cheiron and Fiducious that it was just an accident,but Fiducious sobbed about dinars during the whole apology thing and Cheiron shook his head at me and muttered something about padded walls and talking with his therapist.
I have to stay at the Academy and help rebuild the stables next festival break,but I'll be home next time(I hope).
Your loving son
Iolus
Hoolies A-Z
by Alex
This is my first attempt at a YH fan-fic.First try posting a ff anywhere.Hope it goes alright.
Disclaimer:No,alas,I don't own the Academy or the heroes or any characters (except Alex of course).
Story Disclaimer:No cadets were harmed during the course of this story.Several hoolies however met a tragic end.
As the day broke over the Academy,several loud noises were heard.
Bangs and crashes and the shouts and screams of freshly hoolied cadets rang out.
Celest nailed Bryn with an ambrosia filled cheese puff.
Ducking the puff,Bryn retaliated with a mashed oat casserole.
Eily joined the fun with a key lime pie aimed at Alex.
Fiducious came round the corner and barely missed being hit with a coconut cake.
Gorax worked up a vat of cold spaghetti for an unwary cadet.
"Hoolie Days are so much fun!" said Alex as she launched hers at Iolus.
Iolus yelled "Hey-don't throw that-It's much better served at lunch."
Jumping up he grabbed a handful of cold oats and threw them at Alex.
"Kill the Hoolies!!" a cadet shouted "Cheiron's Coming!"
Lunging and grabbing the cadets hurried to hide the food.
Mimma came in late and had just launched her hoolie.
Nelia yelled "NO!" in a loud whisper,but it was too late.
Oats landed all over Cheiron as he entered the room.
Peas rained on his head after he tripped the hoolie over the door.
Quickly the cadets denied any knowledge of wrongdoing.
Reaching up to pck a pea out of his hair Cheiron demanded an explanation.
Soon all the cadets were talking at once trying to explain.
"There is a simple answer" Cheiron said "Detention for everybody."
"Until this mess is cleared up no one will leave this room."
Various cadets rushed to get brooms and mops to start cleaning.
While others began washing dishes and wiping tables down.
"Xerxes'Army couldn't have made such as mess." said Fiducious as he supervised the cleanup.
"Yet it does have a nice touch." he added as he picked up a fork.
"Zeus,but this coconut cake tastes good"
What does the future hold?
by aimee
Please don’t sue me, I do not own the YH characters.
88888888888888888888888888888
Jason sat on a hill looking over the city of Corinth, and watched at the shadows danced across the countryside surrounding the city. He sighed inwardly as he thought about everything that had happened, and wandered what was about to.
Would he make a good king, or a great king like his late father? Maybe his people would revolt against his ruling, and plot to murder him. Would they do that with poison? Or maybe an arrow shot from above, at a short distance? Perhaps maybe a poisoned arrow?
He shook his head violently, forcing all the negatives thoughts out of his mind, only they were too stubborn to be shifted.
He let his head flop into his hands, and he rubbed his face, then his hair. Was he even ready to be king? Maybe he should have asked to be crowned when the leaves began to die… But he agreed the best time was when the flowers were scattered all around, and nature flourished.
He sighed again thinking about his bride to be. Why had he agreed to an arranged marriage? Oh yes, he could recall it was that he’d definitely have a Queen-one of high standard. She was to be a princess of a distant kingdom. But what if he didn’t like her?
Well, it was his own fault, something he’d constantly remind himself of, if only he’d told Aimee he loved her sooner (hey, a girl can dream!) she wouldn’t have gone off with that sea-man. Yet, he loved her and she loved him, or she said she did.
When Jason had confessed to her his feelings, she just smiled and walked away. It was too late for such confessions by then…
Jason sighed for the third time, four summers had passed since then. She had a small boy now, her life no longer had room for him in it. Yet, his feelings for her was still as strong as they had been all those Summers ago. Perhaps he just thought he loved her, because he could not have her.
He glanced up at the sky, Apollo’s Chariot was just in front of him. he sighed again, it wasn’t just the sun that just before him, but also his Coronation.
He stood and wandered why he couldn’t just walk backwards and step into the past. He tried once when he was younger, just after his father had died. He wanted to go back and tell him everything he needed to, and take back all that was said that was bad. Yet the only place he ended up if he walked four steps back was four steps away from he was to begin with.
He was so lost in thought he didn’t hear Hercules and Iolaus walking up behind him until they were by his side. “Hey,” he greeted without looking at them.
“Hey,” they greeted back.
“You ready?” Iolaus asked gently.
Jason nodded, took a step forward and turned to face them, “Yes,” he smiled, a smile they returned.
That was when he realised, it didn’t matter what was to be, he had his friends behind him, and by him, ready to give him the help he needed along the way, as well as a push behind.
END
a/n I'm off to work, oh the joy of bein g the damn deli... meh, oh well. Hope guys enjoyed this!
Sleepless part 6
by aimee
I don't own the YH charcters.
Since it's been a while since I updated, I figured I'd post a longer chappy than usual.
888888888888888888888888888888
“He’s all right, isn’t he?” he asked.
The centaur took a deep breath, “I’m afraid he’s…”
8888888888888888888888
“…he’s in a pretty bad way,” Cheiron said. “When they found him he was unconscious-he hasn’t woken up yet,” he said. “They don’t know what happened…” he said.
The two cadets sat in silence. It was the demi-God who broke it, “Is he here?” he asked, “Is he here in the academy?”
Cheiron shook his head, “No, he’s being cared for at the palace in Corinth,” he said.
“Can we go to see him?” Iolaus asked.
“If…” Cheiron began, “…I say no, you’ll still go, won’t you?”
The two cadets laughed a little, and looked at Cheiron guiltily.
The centaur nodded, “That’s what I thought…” he mused. “There’s a carriage outside to take you there,” the two boys rose. “But!” he said, “you need to take these with you,” he handed them a bundle of scrolls each, “I expect you to both keep up with your studies,” he said.
Herc nodded and took the scrolls, handing one bundle to Iolaus. “You knew this morning, didn’t you?” he challenged the older man
“Yes,” he confessed, “Now off with the two of you before you ask me anymore questions forcing be to change my mind!” The two cadets nodded and made their way to the door.
8888888888888888888888888888888888888
The ride to Corinth took longer than usual, too long for the liking of hercules and Iolaus. “Are we nearly there yet?” Iolaus asked for… well the number of times he’d asked that had long now been forgotten.
“Shhh,” Herc playfully scolded his friend, “We’re only a little closer than we were the last time you asked.”
The curly haired boy sighed, “I’m sure it’ll be quicker if we walked,” he moaned.
“If that is your wish sir, I will happily stop the carriage,” the voice of the driver could be heard, causing Iolaus to go a deep crimson.
“Sorry,” he called out, and glanced at his friend who looked amused. “Now don’t you laugh!” he warned his demi-Godly friend.
“Oh come on,” Herc teased, “It was a little funny,” poking his friend playfully in the ribs.
Iolaus poked him back, causing a retaliation. Soon it became a playful fighting game in the back of the carriage before the driver bought the two of them to their senses.
“As soon as the two of you stop your shenanigans, you may want to go up to the palace,” he said half mockingly.
The two cadets quickly composed themselves, “When did he enter the city?” Iolaus asked. “I thought we were ages away,” he said.
Herc shook his head, “When you last asked if were nearly here, we had just entered the city, but you didn’t bother to look out your window,” he grinned, with a mischievous look in his eye.
Iolaus sighed, “Let’s just go and see Jase,” he said, opening the carriage door and jumping out. He reached for his belongings and waited for Hercules to do the same. He nodded to the driver, and led the way through the palace gates. “This place is smaller than I remembered,” he said looking at the palace.
Herc shook his head, “No,” he said, “You’re just bigger,” he said poking him friend in the stomach.
“Hey,” Iolaus protested, “It’s all muscle!” he said, making his friend laugh.
Hercules shook his head, and approached a nearby guard, “We’re here to see Jason."
The guard just stared at Hercules and Iolaus, then, surprising, drew his sword.
Study Blues
by Eily
I think this is my first piece of Young Hercules fanfiction. None of the characters you recognize belong to me, neither does Cheiron's Academy. I sort of zoned out during class and this is what happened.
Fiducious happily passed back graded quizzes at the end of class. A chorus of groans filled the air as cadets gathered their scrolls and things and left, eyes glued to their marks.
"Almost an alpha," Hercules said. "It could have been worse."
"It was," Iolaus said, following Jason and the demi-god into the hallway. He looked at his own quiz with shattered disappointment.
"What about you, Jason?"
"Alpha minus," he said. "What went wrong, man?" he asked Iolaus. "We studied together."
"With the girls," Iolaus pointed out.
"And we're smarter than you," Lilith teased from somewhere near the back of the stream of escaping cadets. One of the other girls pulled her aside into a circle of post-class chatter.
"What I'm saying is, they're a distraction." He shot a glare at the back of Lilith's head. "And annoying."
"And cute," Hercules said, seeing the root of the problem.
Iolaus nodded. "Unfortunately."
"It can be a problem," Jason agreed. "But we can't just kick them out of the study group."
"Without their help, my grade would be as bad as yours," Hercules said to Iolaus, who grimaced.
"So what am I gonna do? They're keeping you guys from flunking out of the academy, but my grades are getting worse."
"Don't worry," Hercules said, a smile lighting up his face. "I've got an idea."
~ ~ ~
"I still don't get why you think wearing a blindfold is going to help you study," Lilith said, staring critically at Iolaus. The cadets were preparing for another quiz.
Hercules shook his head. "It's not a blindfold."
"That's right," Iolaus said, scribbling down notes on an open scroll. His handwriting was messy and sprawled because he couldn't see it. "This is a highly magical concentration device I picked up in Thebes."
"Or that old scarf you bought from Kora," Jason said under his breath.
Lilith still wasn't convinced. "If it's so magical, then why haven't we seen it before?"
"Yeah," one of the other girls said. "Why would you wait until now?"
"It's all very complicated," Iolaus said, smugly adjusting the blindfold. "It's tied to the position of the planets and stuff like that. I wouldn't expect you to understand."
Sensing that a fight might break out if the group wasn't distracted immediately, Hercules intervened. "So, the chief exports of Athens are?" he asked, getting back to what they were studying.
"Oh! I know that!" Iolaus half-shouted with cheerful surprise.
Hercules turned to Jason. "See? Magic."
^_^ I hope your little sister does well. It's approaching the end of the semester around here and it seems the entire student body is having the sudden realization that there's work to be done. A bunch of my friends and I are trying to do projects, papers, and stuff this weekend (as opposed to something fun), which is kind of a switch.
Thanks! I think this will actually be a one-shot. I kind of want to write a large YH epic involving a quest or something, but realistically I don't know that it would be the best idea (I have a nasty habit of writing myself into corners, like posting a great cliffhanger when I have no idea how to write what happens next).
Unitled Fic
by aimee
For the disclaimer, I would just like to say that I do not own any of the characters in this fic…
Title: Heroes Die Young
88888888888888888888888888888888888
You know it’s funny… I always though I’d be first to die… it’s always either the weak or the mighty that fall first… that’s what we were always led to believe anyway.
I guess it’s a little different saying that you would die for someone, but I never though either of us would actually have to make that sacrifice, let alone make the decision to do it. It was me the sword was coming at, it was my blood it hungered for. It was my blood that was supposed to soak into the ground turning the grass a crimson red. It was me that was supposed to be held in loving arms, and being told everything was going to alright. I was the one who was supposed to die, and have pennies put on my eyes, and cross the river Styx…
There wasn’t even that much blood to be seen when the sword came out. He said it was nothing but a scratch and just got back up and continued fighting until the fight was over. We thought we’d won, only then he fell… we ran to his side, and saw the scratch wasn’t one… maybe it opened and grew deeper as he fought on, or maybe he lied and sheltered us from the truth so we wouldn’t worry…
It was too late for us to ask such questions… the light had already left his eyes…
I wander if his father was waiting for him on the other side of the Styx, welcoming his in open arms, or scold him for being to foolish to protect a demi-God who probably wouldn’t have died of a sword wound anyway. Or maybe he knew that the sword had been dipped with the blood of a Golden Hind… but how could he? It was only after he’d died and the battle field cleared did we discover that…
It was Iolaus we always protected, he was the weakest of the three of us. I was the mighty one, the strong one, who didn’t need the protection, as I was always protected. But now I know it wasn’t my father that was protecting me… he didn’t need to. Not when I had Jason around… maybe my father knew that Jason would die for me… but what will happen to me now? Is this the beginning of my fall?
END
8888888888888888888888888888888888888888888
A/n- I couldn’t sleep last night (my throat currently feels like I have hockey puck stuck in it everytime I swallow- apparently it’s all due to stress (40 years ago there was no such thing…), so I’m guessing the doctors don’t really know what’s wrong…), so instead of lying awake and getting frustrated because the Sandman’s stuck in traffic, I grabbed my note book and penned this.
Wow! So far today I have killed off Jason and the entire members of the Fantastic Four! And there’s still over an hour of the day left! Though now I have poste, it's after midnight this side of the pond... I'm off to bed, I have work in the morning. So, if you see the Sandman, please point him in my direction!
What go-ats around, comes around - Pt 2
by Celest
This is a short part. Sorry. Just the way the story broke up made this smaller than the one before. Next section will be longer.
As usual, I don't own our heroes or anyone who is from the series. I don't own any characters in here except Celest really. But then again, can anyone ever really own a person?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Hey guys," Neila said as she was busy putting away the weapons from drills that morning. There were only two sets out which caused Jason to raise his eyebrows.
"Didn't over half of the Academy stay over here for your drills?" Jason asked as Hercules, Iolaus, and Eily went into the kitchen area to get a cold glass of water.
"Yeah," Neila replied as she looked at his with puzzling eyes, "Why?"
"There are only two sets of equipment here. Shouldn't there be more?"
"Jason, you must have forgot that I was leader today as well. We did a few one on one matches then we quit for the day. It is part of our training to learn when we have pushed our bodies to the limit and it just happens to be lower for a few than others like yourself."
"I noticed. Hercules and Iolaus were complaining because I wanted them to run five miles this morning."
"Five miles? I think you may have taken this leader thing too far. They are only human after all."
"I guess. I mean, I can do it. Nevermind, do you need help moving these back to their positions?"
"I would like that."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"...so I told him to go stick it in his chariot because I didn't want to see it anymore," Alayia said as she threw her hands up in the air while she was telling her joke.
All of the cadets in the room began to laugh and throw their hands up in the air as well. Alayia was always good at helping them return to pleasant moods especially after morning exercises which was gruesome to say the least.
Eily, Iolaus, and Hercules trodged into the room and proceeded to pour themselves a cool glass of water and sit down.
"You guys look horrible. What happened?" Celest asked as she shifted her attention from Alayia's jokes to the look upon the others faces. They looked as though a chariot had rolled over them and for some reason had backed up and gone over them again.
"Jason...made us...run for miles," Hercules said between gulps of water. The other two nodded thier head as they slugged back their glasses to get more of that cool water.
Iolaus slammed his glass down on the hard wood table, "He needs to learn that we're not all like him and can't run forever." He poured himself another glass of water.
Alayia and Celest exchanged looks with each other. They knew how sometimes Jason would get on one of his kicks and believe that people needed to train as though there was going to be a war the next day. It was just one of his things.
"So what did you guys do? Drills all morning?" Herc asked as he put more water into his glass.
"Well...we sort of practiced. We more developed our talking skills," Alayia said as Celest nodded in agreement. This morning's exercise had helped them develop much talking skills. Especially those as they related to the heroes since they weren't at the Academy to hear any of it.
Iolaus threw up his hands in fustration. "I can't stand this anymore. Every time I stay here for drills, we do drills until I'm exhausted. Every time I leave, the drills last for a few minutes. I need something to eat," he complained as he got up from the table and walked into the kitchen leaving the rest to talk to themselves.
What go-ats around, comes around - PT.1
by Celest
This is Alayia's FF challenge. I wanted to post the first part because maybe it will make more people finish posting theirs. LOL Like always, I don't own Herc, Iolaus, Jason, Cheiron, Fiddle Face, or any of the entities that don't have horribly ridiculous names. I don't own the character of the others cadets either - they made 'em, they keep 'em. On to the story.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I don't think this is such a good idea," Flin said as he followed closely behind his friend Sarem. Sure a beautiful female had happened upon their grove and being satyrs they had naturally followed her. But there was just something wrong with the place. Flin couldn't quite put his tounge on exactly what was wrong but the vibes from the place let him know the answer he seeked.
Sarem was obviously too smitten with the beautiful woman and replied to Flin, "You're always like this. Don't worry - she probably has a friend for you." He continued to push through the brush.
Flin scowled but he too continued to puch through because she was beautiful and the prospect of running into one of her also beautiful friends always held a true satyr captive. After a few minutes of going through the thick bush, they happened upon a small grove with an intricate water fountain in the middle. Something was wrong.
"Let's leave now," Flin said as he was already pushing himself backwards through the bush.
"Now? She probably lives here. It's almost as beautiful as her," Sarem told his friend as he pulled an apple off of one of the trees, "And she definately won't mind if we eat a bit of her fruit."
The moment the fruit touched his mouth, a blast of green light appeared in front of both of the satyrs. It caused Sarem to drop his fruit and Flin to fall down upon the ground in worship. In unison, they both said, "Artemis."
Artemis glowed with a fire in her that seemed to cause Sarem to become spellbound. "Satyr Sarem, you have eaten from my sacred grove and have chased one of my maidens to a point of exhaustion. For your greed, I curse you to become an animal who cares not what he eats." She shot him squarely with a bolt of green light and disappeared as Sarem lay writhing on the ground...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Jason, would you cut it out already?" Iolaus moaned as he trudged up the hill behind his friend. Persperation was coming down his forehead as well as everyone else who was with him.
"Just a few more miles. Come on Iolaus - I know you're not tired," Jason said as he stopped to help his friend to his feet. Jason, being leader of exercises for today, was not going to let the others off so easy just because he was their friend.
Hercules stopped near both of them breathing hard and asked, "Iolaus has a point. It's gotten hotter so it's a lot more work for us to have to do. Maybe we can go do another exercise."
Jason looked at Iolaus and Hercules in disbelief. Here were his two friends who were used to dodging monsters and gods and they were tired for only two miles of hiking? He couldn't let them just go back to the Academy so soon. Cheiron would think that he was a bad leader.
"Eily, what would you do?" Jason asked the nearest cadet who happened to be Eily.
Eily walked over and looked at Jason as she tried to catch her breath. The boys had been ahead of her so she had to run to make sure she would stay caught up with them. "I think...I think...woo, wait a moment. Let me catch my breath." She continued to breath hard as she leaned over to touch her feet to catch her breath.
"See? She's out of breath. We've all been worked too hard," Iolaus pointed out as he brushed his hair out of his face. Anything to combat this heat.
"You prefer to be back at the Academy? With Neila leading the drills?" Jason asked to see what their response would be. He knew that they would have wanted to be out with him more than Neila. With him, they got a chance to improve upon their warrior skills.
In unision, all three said, "Yes." Anything was better than this.
"Well...fine then. We'll go back," Jason said a bit muffled that they would have chosen Neila's activities over his. He was a good leader. Wasn't he?
Sleepless pt4/5?
by aimee
“I don’t know what’s worse,” Iolaus began in a low voice, “Jason missing or being busted skipping class to find him…”
Hercules elbowed him, “We…were…just…” he stumbled looking for a believable explanation,. “We forgot our feathers…” he said clumsily forgetting the name for quills.
Cheiron’s expression was set, “I think you boys should come with me,” he said a little sternly.
The two cadets looked at each other, then followed him. “How did he know what were going to do?” Iolaus asked Herc.
Herc shrugged, “Maybe he knows us better than we think?” he pondered.
The two cadets were so worried about being in trouble, neither one though that maybe Cheiron had something else to tell them. “Sit down,” he ordered as they entered his office.
They sat, “How much trouble are we in?” Iolaus asked. “Will this go on my record?” The last thing he needed was a school record as bad as his criminal one.
“We only want to find Jason,” Herc protested. “I mean, you don’t care!” he said accusing.
Cheiron took a deep breath, “We’ve found Jason,” he said, and was stared at with wide eyes. “Corinth guards were notified of his disappearance, and sent out a search party. We just didn’t want emotionally attached people involved,” he explained.
“You found him?” Hercules cried. “Why didn’t you just say so?” he demanded. “Where is he?” he looked from the headmaster to Iolaus, worry and confusion etched in his face.
Cheiron’s face was solemn, “They found him by the lake…” he began, but a suddenly erratic Iolaus broke him off.
“He’s all right, isn’t he?” he asked.
The centaur took a deep breath, “I’m afraid he’s…”
Sure! Who'd ever pass up the opportunity to be in a fic!
NAME: Alayia
HAIR: Auburn, straight, and long
EYES: Blue
AGE: 18
OUTFIT: Black, two pieced. I'm flexible with wearing anything, though.
WEAPON: Staff, but I only carry it when needed
HERO: Hercules! Hercules! Hercules!
I have a green necklace, too. ...It's not really imperative to the plot, though, huh?
Anything else you need?
that anyone can use me in a story any time.
I used to be on Neopets
by Eily
Sure you can use my character if you like.
Name : Eily (short for Eilahra, which people are allowed to call me, they just don't do it consistently)
*HAIR COLOR - brown, wavy and long
*EYE COLOR - brown
*OUTFIT - peasant blouse, pants (!), hip scarf, and sandals or boots depending on the weather
*FAV WEAPON - Staff. I also like twin daggers
*FAV HERO - Jason
*SCARS - One on my lower back from falling out of a tree a few years ago
*OTHER ADDITIONAL INFO - I'm an amazon, and have been seen I was fifteen. I'm nineteen now, and recently came to the academy because unlike most of my tribe I don't dislike all men. I have a little brother Demetrius who lives in Corinth. I haven't seen him in years. He's trying to get his guardian, a distant uncle of ours, to let him enlist in the academy too, and when I write to my brother and uncle I try to make all of our academy exploits sound relatively safe and character-building. Demetrius knows better but we're hoping it will persuade our uncle to let him join the academy.
Neopet, if you'd like me to have one: A bori named Leo
Yay a new story! One of these days im going to actually put my thoughts into a story!
Well anywho, heres my info!
*HAIR COLOR - blonde, about to my shoulders
*EYE COLOR - blue
*OUTFIT - black leather skirt and boots with grey leather halter
*FAV WEAPON - the dagger that is in my right boot but I'll use whatever
*FAV HERO - Jason
*SCARS - none
*OTHER ADDITIONAL INFO - I don't know if you need it or not but my half-brother, Dracus, attends the academy but you don't have to put him in the story, he's older so he could have graduated or what not. My mother died giving birth to be and I grew up thinking the man who raised me was my father but Ares was actually my father. I found this out when I was 16 and after that couldn't go back facing the man who I thought was my father so I went to the Academy and the rest is histroy! Anything else you want to kno just ask! And of course you can make up anyting esle you want lol
Can't wait to read the story and thanks for adding me in it!
“I don’t know what’s worse,” Iolaus began in a low voice, “Jason missing or being busted skipping class to find him…”
Hercules elbowed him, “We…were…just…” he stumbled looking for a believable explanation,. “We forgot our feathers…” he said clumsily forgetting the name for quills.
Cheiron’s expression was set, “I think you boys should come with me,” he said a little sternly.
The two cadets looked at each other, then followed him. “How did he know what were going to do?” Iolaus asked Herc.
Herc shrugged, “Maybe he knows us better than we think?” he pondered.
The two cadets were so worried about being in trouble, neither one though that maybe Cheiron had something else to tell them. “Sit down,” he ordered as they entered his office.
They sat, “How much trouble are we in?” Iolaus asked. “Will this go on my record?” The last thing he needed was a school record as bad as his criminal one.
“We only want to find Jason,” Herc protested. “I mean, you don’t care!” he said accusing.
Cheiron took a deep breath, “We’ve found Jason,” he said, and was stared at with wide eyes. “Corinth guards were notified of his disappearance, and sent out a search party. We just didn’t want emotionally attached people involved,” he explained.
“You found him?” Hercules cried. “Why didn’t you just say so?” he demanded. “Where is he?” he looked from the headmaster to Iolaus, worry and confusion etched in his face.
Cheiron’s face was solemn, “They found him by the lake…” he began, but a suddenly erratic Iolaus broke him off.
“He’s all right, isn’t he?” he asked.
The centaur took a deep breath, “I’m afraid he’s…”
Sleepless pt4
by aimee
Jason had been drifting in and out of consciousness for a long while. He could make out the sound of water behind him and knew he was still by the lake. His eyes briefly focussed and he saw blue sky. ‘I have to make it back to the academy,’ he thought, trying to move his arms to push himself up. Pain seared through his body, and he collapsed back on the ground breathing hard. ‘What’s happening to me?’ he wandered and his vision blurred more, and a new wave of darkness took hold.
88888888888888888888888888
“He’ll turn up once classes start,” Cheiron informed the two cadets, “It’ll be fine.”
Hercules looked at Iolaus who returned his gaze, “He wasn’t at breakfast,” he told the centaur.
“Does he always eat breakfast?” Cheiron asked the cadets, who looked at each other again, before turning to him and shaking his heads. “Then we’ve no need to be alarmed. He’ll show up by the time class starts,” he said. “A true warrior does not panic until it is necessary,” he informed them.
The two friends looked unconvinced, but had no choice but to listen to him. They nodded, rose from their chairs and made their way to class.
“I wander if a true warrior has friends,” Iolaus mused. “We should skip class and go look for him,” he told Hercules.
The demi-God nodded, “I agree, but what if he does turn up?” he asked.
The curly haired boy nodded, “If he’s not there when we arrive, or doesn’t arrive before Fiddle-face hands out the scrolls, we’ll go,” he said feeling like the leader for the first time, as Herc nodded in agreement.
8888888888888888888888888888888
They walked through the door and saw Jason’s seat was empty. They exchanged a look, and then went to sit down. Fiddle-face entered with an armful of scrolls, and walked to his desk. “Ok class…” he began, “…I would like you all to look at the sketches…” he talked as he walked around the class handing each cadet a scroll. “…I would like you to name the different…”
Hercules and Iolaus weren’t listening, they both kept looking from Jason’s chair to the door and then back again, waiting for him to come striding through the door, making up some excuse for his tardiness, but it was clear that he wasn’t going to.
The two friends looked at each other, reading the other’s mind and nodding simultaneously, and getting out of their seats.
“Hercules, Iolaus, where do you think you are going?” their teacher asked after them.
He was ignored, however the boys had not gotten even close to the exit before they were face to face with Cheiron.
STRIKE! Part Four
by Casche
When Cheiron finally let them go to bed, near midnight, he warned them they better go straight to bed. Anyone caught out of his or her dorm would have detention.
The next morning, they all staggered out of bed, starving and ready for a nice breakfast of sludge, but Cheiron was waiting.
“To the training hall.”
“What?” Iolaus asked. “What about breakfast?”
“None this morning,” was the reply.
“And classes?” Herc asked.
“None, either. Now go!”
“How does he expect us to anything without food,” moaned Iolaus.
“Maybe he’ll have some sort of party or something in the training hall for working so hard last night?” Jason suggested.
“Doubtful,” muttered Iolaus.
“This is ridiculous!” cried Casche. “I can’t concentrate! I’m starving and tired and hungry…”
“Me, too,” agreed Iolaus.
The cadets piled into the training hall, slightly refreshed from sleep, but even hungrier than the night before. Once inside, Cheiron yelled, “Split into groups again. Number 84!”
“But that’s the hardest one!” whined Casche.
“Exactly,” was Cheiron’s reply. “If you can do it starved and exhausted then you can do it when you are fresh. Now go!”
At first, the cadets tried to push past their hunger and fatigue, but they soon got clumbsy and Cheiron got angry.
“Weak and pathetic! You’re all weak and pathetic!”
“Maybe we wouldn’t be if you cut us some slack,” muttered Hercules.
“What was that, Hercules?” Cheiron snapped.
Hercules repeated what he said, defiantly. His reply was “Detention.”
“This is madness!” Hercules complained to his friends. “He never acts like this!”
“That’s why he’s teaching us a lesson,” explained Jason.
“I’m not so sure,” replied Herc.
“Maybe he’s finally showing his true side,” some Spartan cadet they had never seen before suggested. “He is a beast after all.”
Hercules growled. “That’s not true and you know it. Take it back.”
The Spartan laughed. “Make me, god-boy.”
“Oh, I’ll make you.” Hercules clenched his fists, but Alayia put a hand on his shoulder.
“Fighting among ourselves will do no good.”
Hercules nodded. “You’re right.” The Spartan wandered off. Hercules looked around for Cheiron, but saw that he went to eat the breakfast denied to the cadets. Herc smirked, jumped onto one of the balance beams, and whistled to get everyone’s attention.
“I don’t know what’s going on here, but Cheiron thinks we’re nothing. Are we nothing?”
The cadets looked around at each other, unsure of what to say. Hercules looked pleadingly at his friends. Iolaus understood and shouted, “No!”
Herc grinned and continued. “Cheiron thinks he got us. Does he got us?”
“No!” answered Hercules’s sparing group.
Herc thought for a second, then shouted, “Even though we don’t got uniforms, we’re an army just by saying so. And Cheiron will know.”
The cadets all cheered as Herc bit his lip, deciding what to say next. He took a deep breath, then said, “What’s it gonna take to stop the drills? Are we ready?”
A giant “Yeah!” rang through the hall.
“Cheiron will know!” continued Hercules. “And Fedicious, too. Mister Fiddle-Face have we got news for you!”
Iolaus jumped up with Hercules, and shouted, “Cheiron will hear what we’ve got to say; that we’ve been doing drills, but we’re making them today.”
Herc nodded. “When the tardy bell starts ringing, will we hear it?” He was met with a “No!” so went on: “What if Strife and Discord come out swinging, will we hear it?” Again, the cadets answered, “No!”
“When you’ve got a hundred voices singing,” Jason added, “who can hear a lousy whistle blow?”
“And Cheiron will know,” Iolaus and Hercules shouted in unison, “that this ain’t no game!”
“We’ve got a ton of rotten mush and perfect aim,” Casche laughed.
“He gave his word,” said a cadet.
“But it ain’t worth beans,” answered another.
“Well, he’ll see what concentration really means,” commented Hercules.
“And Cheiron will know. And Cheiron will learn,” Jason told his fellow cadets.
“And Cheiron will wonder how we make the tables turn,” added Iolaus.
“And Cheiron will see that we had to choose,” Herc continued.
“The things we do today will be tomorrow’s news!” Alayia said.
“And the old will fall,” Herc told them all, “and the young stand tall. And the time is now.”
“And our ranks will grow!” Jason added on.
“And grow,” agreed Iolaus.
Herc nodded. “And grow.”
In unison, all three of the cadets shouted, “And Cheiron will feel the fire and finally know!” They led the cadets out of the room, through the halls, and out of the front as everyone yelled “STRIKE!”
Interesting...
by Celest
Cheiron acting all mean on people is just wrong. He shouldn't have made them do exercise 84. That's just the hardest one in the book. And I know because I've seen the book. He should have gone with 32 - the capture the flag one.
Good job on your fic though. Keep us posted.
sleepless pt3
by aimee
“Hey, Herc! Wake up!” Iolaus shook his long haired friend. “Hey!” he shouted again, but all the Demi-God did was roll over.
“No, Mom, not now…” he grunted.
Iolaus normally would have laughed at his friends immaturity, but this time it was different. “Herc, Jason not here! For the love of the Gods, wake up!” he screamed slapping the cadet’s face.
Herc’s eyes snapped open, and he bolted into a sitting position nearly knocking Iolaus over. “What?” he demanded, miraculously awake, and pushing his friend aside so he could get out of bed. He glanced over at Jason’s cot, it didn’t normally look that tidy in the morning. “Where is he?” he asked.
Iolaus shook his head, “I don’t know…” he confessed. “But his boots and over shirt have gone, so he can’t have been Prince-napped,” he said. After all, Jason was the crowned Prince of Corinth, a lot of people would love to kill if they got the chance, but there were no signs of struggle.
“We should tell Cheiron,” Hercules said, “He could be up already…” he looked at his friend, but they both knew that was unlikely.
