As mentioned in my post next door, the movement in my "Tuna" shifts when the crown is pulled or pushed. I unscrewed the case back to have a look around, and didn't find anything out of place. I did notice that the casing spring sits in a groove in the case ring, unlike what I've seen in the 6105 and others where the spring sits atop the ring. Is there supposed to be another spring that sits atop this assembly?

Thanks for taking a look!

Yours appears to have done just that, its pretty flat looking.
You need to remove it from the ring, and then put a wave back in it by bending.

I use a flat bill set of tweezers to do this, and this will usually solve this problem.

But I do want to make one note. If perhaps a 6105 ring has gotten in there somehow, the 6105 ring
is thin enough to cause this sort of problem just because its so much thiner. I can not tell by the photo.

Also the wrong dial ring can cause this problem if its been monkeyed with.

Hope this helps,
Randall

Randall,

Thanks very much for the advice. I'm going to try to tweak the spring as you've suggested. If that doesn't work, I'll order a new one from Borel.

This watch was built in October 2008 and advertised as "new in box" (groan). The guy was definitely lying, as there was a small scratch on the crystal and some scuffs on the case back. Fortunately I met him in person to pick up the watch. I would have been irate had I not had a chance to see it in the metal before committing to buy. I don't have any reason to believe that he had the back off, so I assume the correct spring is installed.

All the best,
Myles

I had no idea this was that new a watch, based onthe picture I had assumed it was at least a few years old. Perhaps your spring is a defective manufacture and the waves never made in it before it was put in your watch.

I see errors in Qc like this on a regular basis, and that is FLAT. I`d like to see it with a loupe and see if it has any evidence of ever having waves in it at all.

Bending works fine, specially with a new one as there is no rust to worry about breaking, LOL.

Good luck,
Randal;l
