Shakespeare ... still ducking the tough questions, eh?by The Thane of Cawdor (no login) Oh you Brits have a simply delightful sense of humor/humour. No wonder the rest of the world wants to be just like you. (Brittania still rules the waves ... don't they? Well, to the Falkland Islanders you do anyway.) That cross-dressing Benny Hill is such a scream. I can see why "back 'ome" you and your mates could spend a whole weekend with several pints of warm, soupy-thick Guinness and buckets of bangers and mash watching him, Coronation Street and On The Buses for hours and hours on the teley. It is that kind of fine cuisine for which the Brits are world reknown, and let's not forget that quick wit, that endears you to the world. For that matter, that's why Rhodes Scholars and other podiatrist wanna-bes from all around the world line up to go to the Institute of (dis)Smae, Liverpool Tech and U. of Bright-by-Tons. (U. of B-b-T - where 2 year community college diploma Canadian chiropodist one moment - a pocketful of ducats; 2 weekends in "Jolly Old" and an internet begotten research paper - Presto! Magic! Now a Baccalaureate and a "Podiatrist" (loosely defined). Sounds too hard to believe? This is possible only where the Sun never sets. Just more 'Smoke and Mirrors ...'. Damn 'Ol Yank P.S. Fallstaff (sic)? I guess the Oxford Spell check on your word processor was 'on the fritz'(Oops. I know you Brits are still a little sensitive about the Germans too.)or did you simply override because you like to add extra "L's" in words? Return to Index |
