Jaaaaaaaane never thought a podiatrist could ever be help___ful, Jaaaaaaaaaane (sung in the tune of JANE, Barenaked Ladies).

It is a fact that we Chiropodists and Podiatrists are successfull in filling our private practice schedules with patients, paying for services in whole out of pocket, every visit. Most often without any third party insurance. Furthermore our practices grow by friends telling friends, family telling family, physicians referring there patients, nurses referring there patients
etc. because we have managed to help them. It would be interesting to see how health providers collecting poggie would fare in a world where there patient would have to pay for there services. Our practices thrive because we are recognized and we are licensed as leaders in foot health care (foot specialists). Our training involves thousands of hours of didactic and clinical education, not to mention hundreds of hours hands on in clinical care. Other health providers provide SOME foot care as part of there overall service, but only Chiropodists and Podiatrists can use these respective titles. In regards too orthotics, medical, podiatric, biomechanical etc. texts are full of indications for use in treating foot ailment. For the record, footwear modifications, foot orthosis can be a excellent palliative measure in relieving symptoms of the crystaline arthritides including gouty arthritis. Do yourself and your clients a favour, do some reading, get informed then refer your clients to a competent regulated Chiropodist/Podiatrist FOOT SPECIALIST.
