This does not make us substandard to other professions, it makes us part of the healthcare team. MD's routinely get phone calls and letters from labs, nurses, PT's, medical specialists and yes, chiropodists updating them on patients. It is not uncommon that they get requests to order tests. They don't think any less of us for doing so.
