Clive Chatters, Chairman of the New Forest National Park Authority, said: No one working for the Authority should be subjected to personal attacks and I take such matters very seriously.
We have taken legal advice in the light of allegations directed at the Chief Executive, Lindsay Cornish, which have been published on websites and in newspapers. The advice is that the allegations are defamatory. Our legal representatives will contact those who published the allegations, seeking an unreserved apology and immediate withdrawal from publication. They will be asking the publishers for the evidence that the anonymous letter is from Authority staff.

Well the promised letters have arrived at the 4 FUG ladies home addresses.
I am sure that "the Fab Four" will be updating their website in the very near future with details of its content.
I suggest all that have not read the contents of the various letters on the FUG website to do so now "whilst you can"!!

Read the legal letter on the FUG site. Re; point 1. - To make no further comments about the Authority and its Chief Executve. - Excuse me, but what happened to freedom of speech. As a perfectly legal protest group surely the NFNPA cannot gag us in this absolute way?

you guys dont hjalf write some impressive letters!! support all the way i say, if some people dont get their own way they just whinge and threaten legal procedings
Especially like Tina's letter replying to Pauls from Basingstokes e-mail, tis good!
As ever, well done Ladies for your continued and capable organisation and time fighting this campaign and exposing the arogance of, what we are now discovering, a small group of those at the top of the unaccountable NPA.
You'd have thought it apparent to everyone following the recent Westminster discrace, that when you're in a hole - STOP DIGGING! Threatening legal action smacks of "protesting too much" and only confirms how threatened by exposure they are.
I'm sure you will have this in hand, but my immediate thought is to spread this correspondance from & to the NPA & HCC as widely as possible to avert their attempts to stifle scrutiny.
HCC councillors ARE accountable, and although they will take a lot more prodding, with no imminent election, they are there to represent us.
Also, what is happening in Westminster regarding this exemption from the democratic process?
Are the NFEA able to help with the legal elements?
Keep up the good work.
Knid regards.

How much public money will this cost instructing solicitors etc, surely there are more important things to spend public money on.
Also, have the NPA thoroughly investigated the issues to make sure they are not true? I don't think they have as all happened rather quickly (my own personal opinion of course!).
