I know this topic is a little off YH but it still has something to do with Hercules.

I met Bruce Campbell, the one and only Autolycus, last night at a book signing. He is soooo funny! There were over 700 people there wanting him to autograph his book and various memorabilia. He was only supposed to be there from 6-8 PM but he wasn't even done signing half the books before I left and it was almost 9 when I left! He said he'd stay to sign and meet everyone and joked that it would be about 1AM when he was done. I'm willing to bet it wasn't far off the mark!

I bought a copy of his book for him to sign for me and read a little bit of it while I was at the bookstore. In it he says he's almost nothing like the characters he plays but after meeting him and hearing him talk, I'd have to say he's a lot like Autolycus in that he's funny and very personable.

For those of you who have met him before (at say a convention or something like that), do you agree with me?

a total BLAST!!! He read an excerpt from his book about what people expect him to be like when they first meet him (like the characters he portrays), then get disappointed when he doesn't act like that. He also read some excerpts from some emails he's gotten. Man were those a scream! I couldn't believe some of the stuff people were writing to him about! It was amazing!

My son, Christopher, also entertained him for about 2 minutes while we were up getting his autograph. I told Bruce that Christopher loves watching Hercules and Xena and that he thinks Autolycus is funny. Bruce said, "Kid's got good taste." Christopher then started yelling a little bit and clapping his hands. Bruce imitated him and Christopher repeated it back. That went on for a minute or so. The crowd was laughing with us. It was great!! I really wished I had remembered to bring my camera but I forgot it. I was so mad at myself for that but oh well...can't do anything about now.

If you ever get the chance to meet him or hear him speak, I highly suggest you go. It will be so worth your time!

I think I'm pretty lucky too.

Autolycus was one of my favorites too. I always loved the smart-alecky remarks he'd make. I think my favorite Autolycus episode on Hercules was "The Beginning of the End". That was the ep where Auto steals the Kronos stone and he and Herc go back in time. Herc meets Serena and Auto has to steal the stone again because when they arrived in the past, the stone they had got broken. I like that one because Autolycus meets his younger self.

That is so cool that you got to meet Bruce! I know Bruce is a funny guy. I haven't met him, but I've been to his official site. He's a riot! Is the book any good? I want to know before I buy it.

I don't know if his book is any good. I haven't read it yet. In fact, I'm not allowed to read it til after Christmas because it's a Christmas present. I went and bought it, had it autographed and all but in order for me to be able to do that I had to strike a deal with my husband that it would be a Christmas gift from him and that I wouldn't read it til after Christmas. I tell you it can't get here soon enough! He read excerpts from it while he was there and what he read was really good (very funny too!) but as for the rest of the book, I really can't say.

If anyone has read his book, please let us know if it's any good. If no one has, I'm afraid you'll just have to wait til after Christmas for my report. Sorry
