Okay! I'm feeling much more awake and alert now ^_^ time to get some more work done.
Instead of making several posts to the board (which I kinda already did), I'm going to cram as much information as I possibly can into this post.
~*~ About the Campus Map~*~
the map can be found at
http://yhu.deabryn.com/Map.html (it might take a minute to load)
Since I couldn't find a copy of the old Academy map, I whipped up a new one. I tried to include all the buildings I could remember, and also added a few new ones. (if there's an essencial building I'm missing, please let me know!) A few cute things to take note of:
Ruff Hall is next to the Forge (so his help can be used to start the fires) and also close to the pond (so that water is readily availible should there be an accident).
Iolaus Hall is the closest hall to the pig pens, and ties with Lilith Hall as being closest to the kitchen (Iolaus 'cause he likes to sneak over there, Lilith 'cause the guys thought she was a cook when she first arrived.
Chancellors, Cheiron, and Fiducious get rooms farthest away from the pigpen and the compost heap and the music room, 'cause they're special ^_^.
There is a weapons storage room to hold supplies in case the Academy is ever attacked.
The Infirmary is very close to the gym.
There is a room next to the kitchen and mess hall that is used to teach cooking (since the cook threatened to quit if the cadets messed around in his kitchen again) and also for mortals to mix up their favorite Hoolies.
~*~ Living Arraingements ~*~
CADETS! Those who have not already laid down dibs must decide which Hall they wish to live in. Some points to consider:
Hercules, Jason, and Iolaus halls are the farthest away when the Chancellors, Cheiron, and Fiducious retire for the night, so they can party the loudest. Unfortuantely, sometimes one of the heads stays late in their office, and since those three dorms are the closest to the heads' offices, they're caught more often.
Iolaus Hall is closest to the pig pen. Usually the winds blow the smell away, but every once in a while...
Lilith Hall is far enough away from the Guys' halls to not get caught in the crossfire when they get grounded for partying too late, but also far enough away from the Heads' rooms to have their own parties if they want. Unfortuantely, they're also the closest to the music room (earplugs, anyone?).
Ruff Hall is the closest to the Heads room, which means the cadets housed within must be more quiet than the other halls so they don't draw unwanted attention from the Heads. The up side is that they're more likely to run into a Head, and have the chance to earn Dacuda points (this will be explained later).
ONCE YOU HAVE DECIDED which hall you wish to live in, you have to reserve a room. Here is an average map of the first floor of a hall:
http://yhu.deabryn.com/floor1.bmp
Eventually I want someone else to re-draw this map and prettify it. We might even someday have slightly different maps for the different halls... but yeah. I'm getting ahead of myself.
Room 105 is always taken by the namesake of the hall. The following rooms have been already claimed:
Iolaus Hall 103 - Celest
Iolaus Hall 107 - Casche
Jason Hall 103 - Eily
Lilith Hall 101 - Bryn
Please let me know which room you claim.
ONCE YOU HAVE CLAIMED A ROOM, your next step is to design your room. You can do this by drawing/scanning a picture, creating a picture with computer programs, or just typing up a description of your room. Or a combination of things, whatever. Let your creativity run rampant. This will be posted on the site so people can click on your room and see what it looks like.
Please email me your descriptions when you're finished, and I'll add them to the site.
Ty! Yours is a little more complicated. To get to your room, a visitor will have to click on the stables (instead of clicking on the hall, like they would for a different cadet), and then click on your room. Your mission is to not only design your room, but to also decide what people see/read when they click on the stables. I can whip up the html coding, but I'm leaving it to you to decide what you think it should look like.
Eily! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to decide what you want at the top of the Jason Hall page (
http://yhu.deabryn.com/JasHall.html). Since you're the first one moved in, you get to make the big decisions. You can write a credo (there's one in Iolaus Hall), you can pick your favorite pic of Jason and send it to me (actually, yeah, do that anyway and I'll make it into the Jason Hall pic), you can type up a short description of the hall, whatever you want. Just let me know.
Celest! Casche! You're the only ones (besides Iolaus himself, of course) moved in to Iolaus Hall. Your second misson, should you choose to accept it, is to decide what picture you want of Iolaus on that page (
http://yhu.deabryn.com/IolHall.html), and if there's anything you want to change about what's there. The creed is from the old site - you can scrap it or add to it, and a description of the hall, whatever. Disscuss amongst yourselves, and let me know the results.
~*~ Calendar ~*~
The calendar is current. I need everyone to give me their birth day/month so I can make sure it's on there.
~*~ Test ~*~
The test is new. You can go ahead and fill it out, and email me your final answers. You get Daccuda Points for how many answers you get right (1-6 right is one dp, 7-9 right is two dp, 10 right is three dp). I'll soon put up a page to record how many Daccuda Points you've earned. The Cancellor (wen we elect a new one) can give out dps for particularly good hoolies and bribes.
~*~ What I Need ~*~
- Someone to redraw the maps all prettylike
- One or more people working together to start writing up a reopening ceremony. (Remember the awards show?) Please try to include all the current cadets in the story. I'm assuming this will take time, that's why I'm mentioning it now.
- People to write room descriptions for the heroes (What does Herc's room look like? What mysteries are inside Iolaus' room?)
That's it for now.
If there's anything wrong with the site (colors are hard to read, link is broken, word is mispelled), please let me know. I've been staring at these pages so long my eyes are blurring, and what I
think I'm reading is not always what I'm
actually reading.
