AKA More random musings...
If you watch "Academy" you meet Sesca who is the daughter of Jason and Lillith,as well as Tabor the son of Cheiron and ?.The two teenagers also appear to be around the same age.Sooo, how come we really don't see any of the Jason/Lillith 'ship develop in YH even in the Jason eps,it just doesn't seem to get past him ogling her when she put a dress on.Also Cheiron doesn't seem to have any significant other, and he seems to me to be the kind of guy that would have to know a lady very well before he'd get busy with her (for lack of a better phrase).
I haven't read the YH FF season 2 yet,so I don't know if any of this is addressed in there, but I just got to wondering about that.Probably just have way too much time on my hands..
how come we really don't see any of the Jason/Lillith 'ship develop in YH
Jason does call dibs on Lilith when the first arrives at the Academy. "I’ve died and gone to the Elysian Fields!"
Minor fact: "My Fair Lilith" (2/3/1999) first aired a little less than a month before "The Academy" (03/15/1999), which means that they were probably being filmed at around the same time.
2nd minor fact: Charlie Haskell directed both episodes.
Reasons why they might not have put in any more 'ship in YH:
1) Jason and Lilith could have started noticing each other several years after YH ended. There is a large time gap between the two shows. Same thing for Cheiron - he could have met the love of his life in the time-gap, with plenty of time to raise a child to be Tabor's age.
2) YH was aimed at a pre-teen audience, rated PG, which is why there is only a little ogling and very few quick kisses. Kids this age probably either wouldn't be interested or would think it was icky if one of the adults in the show had a love interest.
3rd minor fact: some of the YH eps were rated TV-Y7-FV. This program is designed for children age 7 and above. It may be more appropriate for children who have acquired the developmental skills needed to distinguish between make-believe and reality. Themes and elements in this program may include mild fantasy or comedic violence, or may frighten children under the age of 7. Therefore, parents may wish to consider the suitability of this program for their very young children. For those programs where fantasy violence may be more intense or more combative than other programs in the TV-Y7 category, such programs will be designated TV-Y7-FV.
So yeah. Really young kids. Although Iolaus did get a few more risque comments out. "I guess if you're going to be king, you don't want to restrict yourself to one person." ^_^
3) One would assume that the Jason/Lilith in one series was what triggered it in the other series (although I know nothing of what was happening behind the scenes between the writers). But this was also nearing the end of YH's season, so they probably already had the rest of the episodes written up and couldn't write any more new ones with more shippiness. Not to mention Jason gets crowned soon. Before the ceremony he is too busy planning the ceremony, and after the ceremony he is too busy getting in the swing of running his kingdom to set aside time for Lilith to visit and confess her overwhelming love. Not to mention, she apparently goes back to her amazon sisters, and he has to worry about finding a woman he can marry who will be queen. (Does he marry anyone while he's king? I don't know - I'm behind on my HtLJ watching). Aside from a tryst or two they know they can't have a long-lasting relationship.
And Lilith doesn't view him as a romantic interest right now. She spat on her hand when he kissed it. ^_^ She isn't really viewing anybody as a romantic interest, actually. Give her some time to grow up ^_^
Although Lilith does look devestated for a moment after Jason says that their plan isn't going to work... maybe she is starting to feel something for him? "But I am bound to Jason as if her were my brother." Hmmm...
Possible better phrases: have a child with her, sleep with her, be intimate with her... I'm sorry, but I can't picture Cheiron "getting busy". It's just not a phrase I would associate with him ^_~
I haven't read all of the FFs2 yet, but it is still very early in the lives of our heroes, so I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't mention anything.

Bryn, Alex presently nibbling on toes as she writes
Yep you're right,I didn't figure in the age of viewers and PG rating when I wrote.Being 1:00am and just getting off work didn't help either, lol.
I guess I've just never figured out the timeline for H:tLJ or YH,some of the episodes seem to skip around so much timewise it's hard to figure if it's ben a month,a day,or a year since the last ep.And it didn't help that some eps. seemed to skip around tmewise.(Now I'm seeing a future progect in doing a workable timeline;))
The turn of phrase was all wrong if I may say so Alex presently giving new meaning to filet of sole Right again,Bryn,my only excuse is the lateness of the hour in wich the post was typed.Although Cheiron would say "There are no excuses".
I think what I was trying to say is that even thought it was years away from the tryst that produced Seska,Lillit and Jason knew each other for quite some time.I think from what I've seen of his character that it would be the same for Cheiron, esp. as he seems the kind of guy that would have considerably more of an emotional involvement with someone, before he'd have any kind of relations with her.If that makes sense.
Now I begin to see where a lot of fan-fics come from-all this speculation lol.

By the way,Bryn in your other question about whether Jason ever married,if I remember correctly,Jason married Medea the princess from Colchis who helped them get the Fleece. If my memory of the H:tLJ is correct, they only reffered to the event, but Jason and Medea had children together, and Medea killed their children before leaving Jason which kicked off Jason's drinking problem.
I think that's how the writers put it,if I'm wrong please let me know.

I... am an idiot. I shoulda know that. Medea was one of the plays we covered in class a few months ago headdesk I wonder if they referenced the flashback with YJason and YHerc fighting over Medea. Gotta get the rest of the HtLJ dvds and catch up.
Tsk, tsk. What is up with everyone's kids getting killed off?
