I'm making Site Awards to give away and I would like that to include Excellent Young Hercules Site Award. I already posted 7 other Site Awards on my page (Xena/Herc related). But I need a photo and just don't want to swipe it off someone's page.

The Alchmanae pix will be used for a contest I have running. It's a mother/son contest. On the Award I want to show Ares & Hera, Herc & Alchmanae. So does anyone know where I can find one???

I know most of you are fans of Young Herc (Ryan), but maybe a few of you like Ares? If so, you might like to know that Kevin Smith's movie, "Desperate Remedies" was just released on video here in the US and Canada. I saw it at CDnow, but it's probably at other places too. This is a movie Kevin made in 1993. It also stars Michael Hurst (Iolaus) and his wife, Jennifer Ward-Leland.

I figured I mineswell introduce myself. I'm Bryn, Goddess of Unrequited Love, and I'm been hanging around the forum since '98 with Léda. Currently the internet's down at my house so I'm checking in occasionally, and seeing since my dad's one of the world's biggest procrastonaters, I'll probabally still be lurking for the next few months. But I try to come in often, and post so that I'm not forgotten. BTW, I'll forgive you for writing storied about my fiance and Gabrielle... I'd be stupid indeed if I thought Ares would practice a monogomas relationship with me.

Anyway, what I really wanted to ask you was what kind of picture programs you suggest? I've been thinking about making awards and banners for my own sites, but I don't know how to do all those cool tricks with graphics.

I guess you saw my Mighty Aphrodite Challenge Award??
I made that with my new photo program called "PrintShop Photo Pro Version 2". It's made my Broderbund. It's easy to use and comes with instructions on how to do stuff. Plus it also has MORE features than the more expensive photo programs. I bought this program for around $20. You use this one to cut out shapes from photos and do all sorts of special effects.

I also use "Picture It! Express" which came with my computer. When you use the 2 programs together, which is what I've been doing, you can create some really incredible stuff. I started out with Picture It! as I never used a photo program before. This program is very handy for making the banners and putting text on the photos. I also use it to paint the backgrounds and stuff.

There are 2 other photo-type programs that came with my computer I never use: they are too hard and confusing. They are:
MGI PhotoSuite SE
Ulead Photo Express

I suggest you avoid those as they do very little.

If you want, I can make you banners and awards. To do a good job, you not only need the photo programs but you must also know about art: color, design, layout, etc. I studied Commercial Art for 4 years in High School, so I know a bit about it. But if you want to do it yourself, go for it!

Do you know of any YH webrings I can join? The Academy one is apparently out of the picture since the person with the password left. I noticed you seem to belong to lots of webrings. Are any of them still active and accepting new members? I have a A/G and YH page. Well, it's mainly A/G but I have my YH stories on it. I'll add some pix as soon as I get some!

And as for Ares, I think he's mine.
But if you'd ask my pal Gabs, she'd say he's hers.
I just enjoy writing about Ares & Gabrielle.
It's my own opinion that Xena treats them both too mean sometimes.

They have these herbal cigarettes for people who don't smoke but have to for their character. The Cigarette-Smoking-Man on X-Files is the perfect example. He had quite smoking years before he got that part, so every cigarette that you saw him smoking was an herbal one. I'm seriously hoping that that's what Ryan has in his mouth, I really hope that it's for the part. I don't like smoking. I'm allergic to the smoke. It makes my nose bleed. Sorry if that grossed all of you out, but it's the truth. I can't be around people that smoke, not even outside. I'll move away before I breathe it. No offense to anyone on here who does happen to smoke.
