It is my daily wearer. I have found it to be very rugged. I would suggest a Spiedel twistOflex band to allow him to quickly remove it if he is involved in an activity that produces lots of shock. Example: football, skate boarding, etc. The watch is pretty water resistant, but it is not a dive watch. The inexpensive twist O flex band will take a beating and is corrosion and sweat proof as well as cheap to replace if need be.
