Response to Winding Self Winding Watch

" I have a new Limes Pharo Moonphase Chronograph and have been told that it is not good for the movement to wind it by hand after it has stopped from lack of wear. I don't want to purchase a watchwinder if I don't have to. Any thoughts ?"

Congrats on your purchase and thanks for choosing Limes. It is ok to wind this watch via the crown, although winding the watch by spinning the rotor is even better. I recommend this strongly for owners of watches with screw down crowns, especially those who wind their watch frequently, as it results in much less wear on the crown.

With the conventional crown on the Pharo, this isn't a concern.

Best regards,

Steven
