I would love to help Culture Shock out in any way possible. I am graduating from High Point University this may and getting into the freelance magazine game. I am more of a visual personal than a writer which is why I am responding to this post.
If you would like any help please let me know. You can send the pictures and text and then I could help put some stuff together, to see if you like it, if you would be interested.
But if you have a team of people with little formal graphics education than try some different things. There is a lot of literature that breaks down what makes something graphically pleasing but what do you like?
Like for example 2 Wheel Tuner magazines graphics are very colorful, creative and youthful. By examining what they do here and there can give you some ideas of what to do on Culture Shock. Now I am not at all saying to copy and paste but rather create your own style by first seeing what you like in successful styles. Examine very specifically what makes a style pleasing, by doing that over and over you eventually create your own taste.
Keep a theme to avoid too much. Break down your logo; it is bold and simple with boxes. So now with all pages that are not in a section: Table of contents, editors column, etc. keep the same theme with simple black, white and yellow colors and boxes.
Culture Shock is for the intense young guy who is not serious and very informal. Make the graphics the same: Colorful, crazy, against the norm and intense. Making photos and graphics blend with little white space is important. Like photoshopping the people out of the normal background and putting them onto a crazy looking, bright colored digital drawing of some gears and bike parts.
This is all just my opinion and merely suggestions. I hope I can be of help, thanks Jesse Kiser.

I am looking for some creative people to help me with content for this magazine. This will be a variety style magazine. We have coverage of Sport bikes, trick bikes, tattoos, body art, Noir Leather fetish shows, and other things. We are looking for some creative filler type stuff, that is highly entertaining. Some examples are Satire news stories, letters to the Editor (we need some for the first issue...), creative features, etc. I would like to do some brainstorming, and communicating via this online forum.
We need pictures of random cool stuff to work with, such as riding shots, girls butts hanging off of the back of crotch rockets, any random, cool, or disturbing stuff that we have permission to print.
