My Great Uncle was killed WW1 1918 in France serving with the Black Watch. Haven't been able to find out if his unit was fighting in the Somme area or if he was a 'straggler'.
Also does anyone know if there were campaign medals awarded and if so can they be obtained?
His service number started with a 'S' does this mean he was a Territorial?
Any help gratefully received
Thanks
