I dont have a detailed account of the history of the 7th Battalion, but here goes. The 7th Btn joined the line in July 1915, and took part in the battle of the Somme in 1916 as part of the 51st Highland Div, and later in the battles of Passchendale,the Ancre, Arras,Ypre aand Cambrai. Most of what I know is from a book on the Gordon Highlanders by Christopher Sinclair-Stevenson published by Leo Allan in 1969. During the 2nd World War they were merged with the 5th to be come the 5th/7th Battalion.
