Could someone help me please. I have a head and shoulders photograph of a John McMillan in a Scottish army uniform and someone has written on the back Bonn Germany 15/02/1919. I believe this was my great uncle John Harley McMillan b in Partick Glasgow 21/06/1890. Unfortunately the badge on his bonnet is not clear. There seems to be a diamond shaped badge at the top of his right sleeve with two, possibly three, bars beneath.
Is there any way I can identify the regiment and find out about John McMillan's military record?
