He is my gt-gt-gt-gt grandfather. He was father of Charles Grant MP director of East India Company (1746-1823). Anyone know anything more about Alexander Grant ? Quite a lot on various websites, but rather confusing. He appears in Burke's Landed Gentry of Scotland (Grant of Nutcombe)
