Response to Some of the press articles suggest they would like to fly the GR9s

Hi David,

You are right, some of those articles do express the USMC's desire to fly the GR.9s. I was going off an earlier article from Nov 13 that didn't have as much information--I should have read the links Robert provide, doh!

I'm glad that these Harriers won't be scrapped. I'm a huge RAF and RN fan and it pains me even as an American to see the British government scrapping so many very useful aircraft (Nimrod comes to mind). I don't understand whey they have to be scrapped instead of put in mothballs. I'm sure they could have worked out a deal to store them at Davis Monthan. Instead, some scrap dealer gets a few Pounds on the pound for what cost the UK taxpayers probably thousands of Pounds per pound (sorry, I don't have the Pound currency symbol on my keyboard).
