The Control-Configured, fly-by-wire fighter.

Maneuverability is everything. That's why MBB (Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm) developed the F-104G CCV (Control-Configured-Vehicle). This fly-by-wire variant mounted an extra tail wing behind the cockpit and offered computer-controlled avionics. The F-104G/CCV can be seen at Germany's Wehrtechnische Studiensammlung Koblenz

I hadn't been aware of this project. Very interesting.
