I tried my hand at casting today with Alumirite mini kit.

Is there a resin with longer work time than a minute?

I would like to also know if there is any 50/50 mix ratio rubber mold.

Any tricks that you have learned about casting?

See if there's a dealer in your area. Look at their Oomoo rubber (weird name, yes) and Smooth Cast 320/321.

Polytek Resin

I've used Polytek for years. Great stuff. 50/50 by volume. Download their catalog/manual @http://www.polytek.com/catalog/catalog.pdf . There is helpful info inside. Polytek also offers trial amounts at lower cost for first time users.

Micro-Mark is more expensive by volume

It appears that Micro-Mark repackages other brands of resin in smaller containers and charges more for it. I compared the price to weight ratio of Micro-Mark and Polytek and Micro-Mark costs more.
