Taken from 2MEB caption:
B-roll of the arrival and flight of the first Osprey aircraft to be used in-country in Afghanistan. Marines. Scenes include military leaders watching as the aircraft lands and its propellers are rotated into their stationary position and the flight crew doing post-flight duties.

NASCAR should buy a couple of those to dry tracks.

Those MV-22's would sure dry a wet track in a hurry!

Those Marine birds look like they have a different camo color applied...kinda greenish looking. Don't know if it's just the ambient lighting or what.

Engines

Do the engines tilt, or, rotate always at the same angle at the same time, or, can, they rotate individually (while in flight)?

The Nacelles/Engines Tilt Together

November 8 2009, 7:50 AM

In fact, there is a miscompare function in the control system that will stop nacelle rotation if they are more than a certain value different in tilt angle. The nacelles can then be individually tweaked to keep them aligned. The problem is primarily loss of yaw control in helicopter mode if they are at different tilt angles but they both also have to be hard down on the nacelle down stop in airplane mode past a certain speed for aeroelasticity reasons.
