Hello, Hyperscalers --

I am working on an F-18B Blue Angels Number 7 conversion to be displayed on landing gear. I have spent some two hours or more reading reveiews on ARC. One person who had built two of these commented that on the first one, some cracks had developed in the kit metal reinforced landing gear. How many of you have seen and or heard how the kit gear holds up ?

The modelers solution was to use BRASS landing gear from a supplier on the second model. Does anyone have experience with brass gear and its detail and durability ? Yes, i'm aware of the white metal landing gear, but thought that the brass would be much stronger. Seems that i've read that the white metal can sag too.

Any comments and tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, George

Brass is the way to go

when its available. It's a lot more rigid than white metal.

C-Factor makes a "complete" 32nd Legacy F-18 brass gear set, but they are hard to find in stock. Check Fightertown Decals.

I think you meant 'G-Factor'

...not 'C-factor'.

G-Factor makes (or did make...... based on a later post here) brass gear for the Academy 1/32 F-18's.

Ernie (G-Factor) made/produced the 32nd F-18 Brass gear. Not sure when he's going to get the Hornet gear back into production though.
