1/32 F/A 18 E exhaust question

is it possible to use the aires set for the aacademy F/A 18C in the Trumpeter 1/32 E ?
i know they are a different engine , but they look similar , has anyone compared apples or tried ??

Even though the real GE 414 and 404 are basically the same size/diameter, they are quite different.
-The 414's Exhaust Nozzle section (not the duct, which is 4 inches shorter) is just slightly longer
-The 414 turkey feathers do not have the TE notch like the late type GE 404 Exhaust Nozzle feathers.
-The 414 turkey feathers also have a slight "twist" to them, as opposed to the 404's straight turkey feather alignment.

Then there are the practical and actual dimensional fit aspects to consider. The Exhaust nozzle diameter between the Academy Legacy and Trumpy Super Hornets may differ; not to mention the Aires resin Exhaust diameter already suffers from significant shrink issue; so much so it doesnt really fit the Academy kit it's made for.

you know your stuff for sure , did a lot of googling and wikipedia, but all i could find was the different numbers , 404 and 414
