Quite a bit

Not so much from the main landing gear wells aft, but pretty much everything from there forward except for the canopy, nose landing gear, and engine intake.

(Note that the photo Crusader pictured above is an RF-8G, not the early F8U-1P used in Project Bullet.)

Well there was an F8U-1 involved too....

- i too would love to build a 32nd scale RF-8. Actually, an RF-8 in ANY scale. I've suggested a conversion fuselage to Fisher, but i don't know how well its been received.

As you probably know already, an F8U-1 DID participate in "Project Bullet", but broke its re-fuelling probe on i think the second re-fuelling. That being said, Fisher DOES make an F-8C conversion, which would get you into the ballpark but it would still require additional work (the F8U-1 nose was slightly shorter and much more pointed; the cooling vents on the forward fuselage sides may have been a little different too).

Small consolation i know, but perhaps worth considering.

Note that the F8U-1 had the original Vought seat as well.

You could use the Tigger Models vac form conversion!

That is right I have a vac form fuselage conversion to make the RF-8 available directly from me.

Project Bullet

Funny, I was just starting to plan one in 1/72. With Glenn's 50th anniversary of his spaceflight this month, I thought making a model of one of his planes would be fun.
