Good evening Gents,

Have any of You made the Hasegawa 1:72 Phantoms and had to add nose weights?. I'm starting one now and don't know if it's a tail sitter or not. I noticed the plans do not mention weights. Maybe it'll sit right with out weights??.
Thanks for replys,

Tim

Hi, Tim --

I do not recall ever having to add nose weight to an F-4 model. But, to be on the safe side, you may choose to add a small fishing weight in the radome of your 1/72 project.

They are also very handy to drop into paint bottles as aggitators ... Happy modeling, George

Tim, I've built a few Phantoms in 72nd scale

Hasegawa, Esci and Fujimi, but none required noseweights.

The distance from the mains to the nose

February 29 2012, 10:53 AM

far exceeds the distance to the tail...and all of the components for the model other than the exhaust nozzles and horizontal stabs are forward of the mains. If you have an F-4 tailsitter, I'd be curious to see that!

I can't ever recall seeing a real F-4 sitting on its tale even after having everything removed from it.
