I got a telephone call on Thursday from Brian Small. Brian is really doing well, and wants to tell everyone hello and thanks for all the cards, calls, and get well wishes. He sounds like the Brian of old, and he said that he will probably be back in a rescue boat real soon. The doctors are calling him the "miracle man" because, given the location of his stroke injury, he should be dead! He has been flown out to UCLA Medical Center, and has been visited by doctors from all over the USA and even Europe. Brian still has an occasional memory lapse, but who doesn't? Anyway, I just wanted to share the good news that our good friend is doing much better.
