Illinois DCFS worse than incompetent

There's got to be something we can do. I called the Governors office to complain and they told me that they "can't do a good job because Blagojevich won't let us hire more people." (obviously a leftover republican) Then when I went on to tell them of the incompetence and biased investigation by Illinois DCFS (actually lack of investigation) I was told "I can understand why you don't have a lot of confidence in DCFS." It makes me sick to think that the governor has such a department working for him to resolve complaints. They did nothing to help me. DCFS aided my drug-addicted daughter-in-law in taking her children (my grandchildren) to Missouri and placing them in the home of a known child molester. At least by moving the children to Missouri a competent investigator looked at the facts.

At this point, all of the charges against my son have been expunged by the Administrative Law Judge. In the decision the ALJ stated the following -
"the 180-page investigative file in this case (DCFS Exhibit #1) reveal surprising abnormalities about the conduct of this investigation. The Missouri CASA worker, Debra Moore, personally supervised the visitation between Appellant and the girls in Missouri during December 2004, as ordered by the Missouri circuit court. On December 15, 2004, Moore told Behimer (Illinois DCFS investigator) that she suspected the 'girls may have been coached.' Moore also mentioned that Appellant's parents requested the children be placed with them. Behimer objected, telling Moore, 'The paternal grandparents are being supportive of their son and raised him and how would this be a safe environment' for the children. Instead of heeding Moore's warning, Behimer's response was to make at least two calls to various Missouri CPS personnel, complaining of 'the problem with the CASA worker and her lack of education,' as well as what Behimer perceived to be Moore's 'lack of objectivitiy regarding the children and their mother.' Lack of objectivity indeed. The Department was put on notice as early as November 22, 2004, that something could be amiss. ..... If the knowledge the Department obtained between November 22, 2004, and December 14, 2004, did not raise red flags with Department personnel about the viability of this case and the credibility of these allegations, it is difficult to imagine what would. ..... On December 20, 2004, Kelsey conducted the forensic interviews of children and the Department was made aware of their disjointed, disconnected and convoluted answers to Kelsey's questions. Still, the Department maintained this report should remain indicated as against Appellant." Later in the decision, the ALJ also writes as follows: "Lack of objectivity indeed. The evidence shows of all the child welfare professionals involved in this case, Misouri CASA worker Debra Moore was the only one truly advocting for the best interest of the children."

DCFS is out of control - no accountability. Surely something can be done, we should have some recourse and this should not happen to other families.
