Well one thing for sure you can hide players much more easily than you can a goalie. That was probably the deciding factor although majority of D1 schools would've honoured the school package at the least but I'm assuming the family wanted a starting position first and schooling to go with it. Wish the family luck cause goalies have the thankless job many times.
