Whitby absolutely owned this game, one can only ask what happened to Central Ontario, their goalie kept them in the game, score should have been much higher Whitby had about 50 something shots. Both teams used goalies I have never seen before in the ETA, McIvor was a key player on the rush and at the point, Kea was invisible.

Great game by COW much different team then last game last game clarington had about 20 shots from the slot this game they only had 1. They also had many 2 on 1s yet finished with a shot right at their goalie. Clarington got lucky with a tie.

Clarington absolutely did get lucky with the tie, in fact if central stayed out of the box they win the game 2-0. However central played very well according to there parents after the game and the best they could do was a tie against a very average effort by the toros. First match up of the year toros played very well and central played very average and the score was 6-1 toros.

COW goalie PVs first game back playing against his old team, I think everyone in the arena expected him to choke however he played outstanding and kept his team in the game to the very end. Great game both teams should be happy with the outcome.

Looks as if things are beginning to tighten up in the league.

That's a great win for Barrie. They are a good team that has underachieved to date. Who knows why this happens; could be chemistry, etc. This should make things more interesting in the league if they can beat a few of the top teams in both divisions. Kinda helps to level the playing field.

Toros are playing well and with whitby seem to be the top two teams in the ETA this year. From playing YSE and Central they both have slipped, particularly Central. AP and Markham have room to grow and will be tough. Petes can give anyone a good game as long as they stay disciplined and out of the box.

Markham over YSE 3-2 last night. Looks like the Waxers are staring to roll. replaced 2Def.,3Forw.,1Goalie from last year and it seems the kids are starting to play as a team. APR also appears to have made improvements over last yr. I perdict 1.YSE 2.Waxers 3.APR 4.N.Central.....In the East 1.Clarington 2.Whitby 3.Central 4.Peterboro

AP and YSE have most depth which will count in playoffs/tournaments. Cats and toros are undefeated, both well coached and good team D. Central rag tag group who we beat twice, team play atrocious, poor goaltending, new additions hurt team. Markham may surprise with star player leading the way.

Those teams that forecheck hard and organized, cause turnovers and yet don't get caught are winning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YSE. Strongest group of players. Challenges with enthusiasm and defensive player are lingering from last season. Will finish 1 or 2.
Markham. Good coaches, solid year over year improvements. Will need to improve defensive play, GA still too high. Should finish 1 or 2.
NC. Every night is a surprise. Finish distant 3rd
AP. Ho-hum year, finish 4th.

East:
Clarington. Solid repeat as #1. Beating teams from west this year.
Whitby. Strong start, schedule frontloaded with weak teams, 2nd half will be tough. Finish 2.
CO. Will struggle with GA of 4 against playoff teams. Finish 3

Central rag tag group you beat twice, so you must be from whitby. I was at both games and in the first game i will agree the team did play 'atrocious', however, poor goaltending and new additions hurt the team? I can't believe you said that, Centrals goalie (1) saw more rubber then a freeway with shots in the 50s yet 2-2 after the second period? And 16 on Central looked very strong as did 7, 11 is a very strong player but had one of hi worst games in this one. The second game however, first goal; very weak. It looked as though it just deflated the Wolves , they played with no intensity until the third period when they gave you a scare coming back from 4-0 to 4-3. Atrocious ? For two periods, yes. Poor goaltending? Two weak goals, but a big save at the end, a bit better then your goalie's performance by the way. And new additions hurt the team? In this game, the new goalie wasn't in net, 16 looked like he lost a step, 7 was invisible, 11 was good, 14 was good, and 2 was bad. So in response, yes you have a very good team in Whitby, but before you write something down think about what you are writing, one third of your statement was 100% true and you forgot to add the good things about them. They are winning 66% of their games so they've got to be doing something right, right?

SCC and Markham last night.
SCC outplayed Markham in the second and third with Markham taking the first. Markham up 2-0 after one. SCC went on to score 4 unanswered with one being an empty net.
The hit was a Major for boarding. Heard a prominent Markham dad (not mentioning names)making a few choice comments as well as the dad of the injured player throwing in a few at the penalized players dad. The hit was unfortunate and hopefully the player will be on the ice in no time. Now, the parent's who had nothing but contempt and rage with ridiculous comments and attitude, this is not about you. It is about the young men on the ice. To stand outside a rink and rant and rave about what happened, calling people names and making sure everyone hears you, tells us all that you have much bigger issues than what happened at a hockey game. That's right folks, it is only a hockey game.

The scouts at Markham vs Central were very nice, I approached them wondering how they got to being a scout and found that they were open with their information and they were all sharing what they had previously written down. I talked to about 5 scouts at the end of the game and I asked them if I could see who was on their lists after the game. On Central for every single list Kea, Vigneux, Bell, Purdie, and Corbett were mentioned, Smith, and Montford came up on once or twice. For Markham they had Gaunce, Bradford, Howe, DeLaurentis, Hutchinson, and Liu, Pantaleo, Vocino and Morris were all mentioned once or twice as well. Each player had a certain 'rating' beside their name however they wouldn't let me see this. Ask a scout at any game for what players they liked out there they will be more then happy to share.

There's something not true about the list of names you mentioned from Markham and Central. I can tell you that Smith would be up there. What about Snodden, Beers, etc? Your story is not credible.

Perhaps its been different at other games but I have never seen a scout in the lobby at the end of an ETA game, they are always out the door by or before the end of the game. Why would they mill around after a game? I am not saying they dont talk to people before a game or during intermision but after a game, I dont think so.

You have to go to a scout to see who are the best kids on your own team? Is this your first year going to your kid's games? Any of us parents can pick them out as well as any scout. The draft difference is where they end up going (what round and team) and how they show up at camp. There's still lots of time. Cool your excitement down before you stroke out.

Centrals goalie #1 won the game for them, APR goalies lost it for them. This was APRs game they spent the whole 2nd period on the powerplay and half of it on a 5 on 3 and only scored once.

APRs goalie had a bad game, everyone is going to have one.

Central is a good team. We had a hard time getting anything going agaist them. Should be a better game next time.

APR was without 3 players, one who is the captain, sick of hearing "key players", the team really doesn't have a key player or players, they play a team game, when they play as a team they compete well, when they play individually they usually lose, last night was one of those nights. Doesn't most team have them?

Lots of scouts at the AP-Central game but on this night Central had all the stars especially the goalie. When the "homer" referee gave AP all those power plays in the second, they could only bury 1, if AP had got the second goal it may have been a different 3rd, but based on their play they should have stayed in the dressing room after the flood.

Why? Because the middle pack teams improved, and the top end ones have not. The historic bottom feeders (Oshawa, Quinte) with no change.

toros 1 - central 4 - not our best game tonight, tough to go undefeated in league play, but give credit to central, multiple suspensions in this game.

Only one suspension in game. #9 tripped and fell into boards and #6 gets 2 games. 9 spent about 10 minutes on the ice and never missed a shift.

#2 & #6 are skilled but can be very dirty players.

Hooey was getting out played by Kea all game and Kea was making him look like a little girl out there. Hooey was getting frustrated and decided that he'd cross check Kea from behind 2 meters away from the boards. This was intent to injure and if I was the ref I'd have him out for 10 games not 3, this could have ended very badly and both teams realized it. Both teams are lucky or they would both be without their star players for a long time. Central wants Hooey dead after this one, and Hooey knows it he skated right to the bench after like a pussy instead of manning up and taking responsibility for his actions not skate away from a fight. Their is a big target on Hooeys back, I would not want to be him next time they play Central this won't be forgotten.

Both teams have lots of really good players, AAA has lots of really good players. The first 2 rounds are for exceptional players, not every team has those. I think most scouts are eying 8 ETA players for the first 2 rounds. They are coming from Whitby, Central, Markham and YSE.

Markham started fast with a couple quick goals and went up 2-0 early, Clarington are not playing their best hockey at this time but did manage to continue to fight it's way back into the game and were able to earn a 3-3 tie on the road against a good team, #11 for the Toros had a highlight reel shorthanded goal late in the 3rd, the Toros did miss Hooey who was sitting the first of his 2 game suspension, he will be back against Whitby on Saturday.

If indeed Clarington captain is out for 2 games, then he was not assessed a CFB, GM51. Perhaps GM54, crosschecking or GM57, boarding/body checking, both 2 game suspensions. The game sheet will tell the story. And why is it so difficult to think that his teammates wouldn't know when he's eligible to play?

If you look at most goalie's in the NHL, they are quick, good feet, always in the right position, good hands, and SMOOTH MOVERS. This is most likely what scouts are looking for and being the father of a defenseman this is the kind of goalie I want my son playing in front of. The goalies in the ETA are an extremely talented bunch however most will be undrafted because they will get torn apart by better shooters. There are still some quick goalies playing stand up this just doesnt cut it, and then there are big slow goalies that take up the whole net. I believe that maybe 5-7 goalies from the ETA will get drafted.

They are sliding. They don't work hard, half don't go into a corner, two D believe they need to carry the puck every time they touch it, they take bad penalties and the biggest problem is some of the players think they are bigger than the team and refuse to make a pass. Nothing is ever said about it by the coach. If this team is going to make a move this year they need to learn what the word TEAM means!

Complacency has set in with Central. It shall be interesting to see how they do at the Silver Stick. Perhaps will be a wakeup call for them, if Peterborough loss wasn't.

Peterborough would have beaten Central in their Oct 18 game except for a couple last minute (and I do mean last minute) Central goals so don't count on the Ptbo loss to wake them up. Central is good but isn't as strong as they're hyped up to be. Other teams are getting better and know who to watch.

There's only one kid on Central who the other players watch but he gets frustrated pretty easily. Beyond that, a decent defensive team can deal with Central. They have some good players but that applies to all top 3 or 4 teams in each division.

Forwards and defense on Central are both good offensively when it comes to defense you can get rebounds after rebounds, breakaways, 2 on 0s, odd man rushes all day long I feel bad for the coach and goalies of this team.

The odd man rushes that Central gives up are more due to the lack of discipline from the coaching perspective.

Terrible officiating on this one. Stripes called a ton of penalties against Markham, but made it up to Markham when they called back a go-ahead goal. Waxers stole a point on this one.

yes, Central had lots of shots but Oshawa kept them to the perimeter, Central gave up many odd man rushes and couldn't get the puck to the slot causing them to tie once again.

SCC plays Belle Tire in an ex game yesterday morning in Detroit and wins 4-1.

Whitby 5 - 3 over Clarington, Clarington owned the game for 2 periods out-shooting Whitby 15-6 and went to the dressing room up 2-1 after the 2nd, but Whitby showed why they are in first and came out and scored 2 goals in the first 2 minutes of the period and went on for the win with a solid 3rd period.

SCC 5 COW 4 .....SCC took a 4-1 lead into the third period and almost gave it up as COW came on strong in the third.

What the COW is going on with this team? Can't they fire the coach and find some guys who knows what commitment is? Better yet, find someone who knows the game AND can TEACH it. Its sad for these boys who almost won the OMHA's last year.

COW has a good group of kids and they all get along including the newcomers this year. This team has alot of talent and it is frustrating to see everyone struggling.

was at COW - Peterborough game, Central had the intensity, but couldn't get shots on net and couldn't score, ref did not help them, however their goalie came up big and kept them in the game, aside from a few players, they are nothing special anymore.

COW is simply a bust this year. Need some fresh hockey knowledgeable guy/gal in there to get these boys playing again at their level.
