Wake up calls for Ontario teams come at the Telus Cup FINALS when they play REAL Midget teams from Western Canada and Quebec.

Especially, because they encourage contact. We here in the GTHL denounce it and pay the price.

Hounds barely beat Ontario team in finals last year.

2 big games today. Mississauga plays the Ottawa 67s. If Miss wins, they clinch first place. If not, London will be first. Oakville plays Nickel City. Winner finishes fourth and advances to the semis. Oakville is probably the stronger team but I wouldn't be surprised if Nickel City wins.
Overall, London should walk away with the Gold on Sunday.

Nickel City beat Oakville 4-1. So it looks like London and Nickel City at 10am and Miss and 67s at 1pm. Good semis.

both rebels and london great teams and very well coached. the right teams made it through. Oakville didn't look like a team that only lost 3 games all year, goes to show what happens when there is real competition. Should be a great game. Congrats to the rebels and the coaching staff well done!

Miss and Ottawa at 10 and Nickel City and London at 1.

It's a toss up between the Rebels and the 67s. Two very good and balanced teams.

London should beat Nickel City after destroying them in the round robin. But Nickel City proved they are a solid team and the extent of that loss to London was sort of a fluke. NC had no goaltending, were undisciplined and their coaches looked crazy on the bench. You could hear the short one yelling and insulting his players all game. They didn't respond well. London played a perfect in your face game and never slowed down.

rebels and london are the two best teams they proved that throughout the whole tournament already. 67's also pretty good just don't have too many goal scorers. My bet is on the REBELS excellent team effort so far.
How did Oakville only lose 3 games and they actually won a few tournaments I hear....not sure how that would happen from what I saw, bunch of sucks and the results to show it....

im sure in a 7 game series, Oakville could beat most of these teams but that the nature of these tournaments

It is a long week with good hockey and it is tough when kids are at a hotel all week and get run down by the end of the week.

Last year the Reps stayed at home (Vaughan hosted) they won, this year, London hosted and they won,Not to take anything away from London they were a solid team. Had some help with hometown reffing early in the tournament with calls going against teams they were playing but they won and played solid hockey. Good luck at the Telus Cup

Congradulations to the Rebels and all 7 teams in this tournament. This was the best of the best in Midget hockey

Dont blame it on the refs. It was a round robin tournament with single elimination semis and finals. On any given day, any team can win at this level.

There was no complaining about reffing just an observation and if you saw the week worth of games, London did get some favourable calls. London was the most complete team for the week and played when they needed to. 67's Played very solid hockey as did the Rebels all week long.

The London Knights are a very solid team and could very well surprise at the Telus Cup. They beat out some outstanding teams last weekend and did so in convincing fashion. Unless you were there, you missed out on some pretty good hockey.

Rebels slept in there own beds when they beat them twice this year. They are very close teams and just depends who is at home that weekend. If you ask Oakville they without a dought were the best team and got a raw deal. That's what happens when you come in thinking this will be a cake walk.

best of luck London it was a pleasure playing against you. Class act team. How did Oakville get the raw end of the deal? They lost against two of the "weaker" teams... I'd say they came in a little over confident and finaly got to play against real competition and the results show how good they really were. Suck it up you lost, you had 6 games just like everyone else. Don't worry daddy will still let you drive the beamer.

That was my point. They thought that but not true. Coaches were a gong show, very cocky and filtered down to kids. Couldn't handle pressure and folded. Blamed everyone else as in past years. Guess that's why the assistant coach is banded for life at this tourney from now on. I feel bad for the kids though, they do have a good team and with good coaching would have showed better, maybe!
