I know of two parents that have sent letters to the board. Cut on first night with imports on the ice. Rules are going to be printed for the board to read.

Many are upset with the imports on the ice. We have too many qualified players that should be given the spots and chances. DH and clan have to exit. The board will be focused to step up the clock is ticking.

Its about putting the best team on the ice that can WIN.
What do you expect? 3/4 of the AA'ers leave becasue Daddy wants to play AAA and cant crack the squad in Oakville. And then, with the talent pool thinner, you complain that DH can't bring in an import or two to make the grade? Give 'yer head a shake man.

How many of the AA kids who were decent jumped and went to Brampton AAA? 8 is it now? Wake up people. If the kids coming up through the system arent patient enough to wait until theyre ready (and leave to play an a mediocre AA1/2 team), then of course the AAA's will need imports to fill in their line up. Had those family's stayed, some of them would have come up - and imports wouldn't be in scope.

Buddy the imports are not to solution and can be poison. How about development. The top players on this team have not made any significant strides in their game. This is why you don't advance. Why can't you see that? The core of the team has not changed, the coaching has not changed, and still not much to show for it. Take that same core and give them a good development plan with a knowledgeable hockey person and the whole team is better by Minor Midget. By bringing in imports all you're doing is acknowledging that the current plan is not working, or the current core is not good enough. I think they are. Maybe after 5 years of trying Oakville should give these kids a new voice and direction. Its selfish for any minor hockey coach not recognize failure and move aside. The kid gave it his best shot and you parents should thank him and send him on his way.

Imports so far are MD from SC. Not trying out but offered a card. Ex Red Wings tender. Cut from his team this season. Both are under review and will not be part of the team at training camp. Someone didn't read up on the import rule process. You can't always piss people off and expect to get support.

So far 2 forwards cut. The word is both were solid contributors. One replaced with a AA player from Oakville who is a good player. The other spot is going to a St Kitts player who is known to be nothing but trouble and will not make any impact except on dragging down team chemistry. One Oakville goalie cut and replaced with import from the G who was cut from the Red Wings. I can't speak for how he did through the season but the Oakville goalie looked as good if not better than the import during tryouts.

Now the team is ready to win the OHF's. Its not the coaching and not the key guys performance. Its these three players. Problem solved.

The import G was good during the playoffs. He knew then that he was
not coming back. He proved that he can do very well. But throughout
the season he was not that great. High shots from a distance will be
a challenge for him.

the goalie move is the big surprise to many on the team. the cut player was the better goalie for the second half of the season and more reliable under pressure.

He did look good but was not steps ahead of the two Oakville goalies that were on the ice. To cut an Oakville player when the Oakville player/s looked as good or better is just wrong. If its true that this player was cut from the Red Wings then there must be a problem. This is probably the biggest red flag.

Didn't you just sum up the reason this coach should be gone? Kids/Families leaving because of the coach, thereby weaken the talent pool...and you can't connect the dots?

Don't post what you know nothing of and assume there was a problem. Kid was let go by TRW because of GTHL AAA bull crap and politics. TRW owner made a deal with a parent for an older aged kid and parent said yes if you take my goalie son on the 97 team. Coach was forced to cut this kid at the request of TRW owner.

And he wasn't able to find a spot on another GTHL team even though he's that good? Maybe politics on TRW team, but what's his excuse for not getting on any other team? Do they all have deals with the owner? Or are you claiming that the OR team was his first choice after TRW?

Thanks new goalie dad for the clarification. So he was that good that he could not get on another AAA team in the GTHL so he "chose" to play in Oakville. I'm sure this was done after careful consideration of many offers in the G. Doesn't matter. MOHA will have him packing within a few weeks.

Im not a goalie dad. Just commenting on how funny it is that a kid is never cut. Its always another story. If the kid was any good he would have been picked up by another G team. There were 4 or 5 changes here and he ran off to Oakville.

The bit about team standing that used to be in the policy is no longer there - so it looks like imports at all AAA age groups are permitted regardless of how strong the team is. So Oakville tax dollars which subidise Oakville hockey will be going to help kids from other towns take your kids spot on the AAA team.

All this talk about players coming, where are they. What are they leaving spots open now. The league has to step in, the kids should be at the tryout this league is funded by Oakville tax dollars. So the kids that show up at every tryout get screwed again, maybe this is why players moved to Brampton. You show up to a tryout you get signed you dont show you should not be signed.

Either more kids were cut or the team is going to carry 20 players. Which one is it?

Prediction

Team will win the SCTA's but still struggle in the OMHA's. Team chemistry will be eroded with new players that won't click with the team. Current leaders on the team will be challenged for ice by imports making the bench more difficult to manage. Players who sit in big games will sit more further disrupting the team. At year end imports will head home and DH will find himself looking for new kids by recruiting more imports and be faced with current high end Oakville players looking for new teams in Minor Midget so they can be properly showcased and to remove themselves from the negative comments that surround this team year after year. MOHA will do nothing, will not recognize the need for a coaching change, and allow the circus side show to go on and fizzle out after Minor Midget. $500,000 spent over 7 years, no championship and another proud moment for Oakville Minor Hockey. DH will loop back to the Atom level and try again.

Once again DH has made fools of MOHA and the Directors. The man child does whatever he wishes and no one says a word. Documented $5000 per player cost, paid coaching, total abuse of the MOHA system.

Way to go MOHA.

All about the kids, is it? Significant number are imports, obviously about this coach - not kids. His ego and trying to fix all the past failures/broken promises

Word on the street is there are LOT of issues.
Bitching complaining crying accusing back-stabbing, and that's just in DHs mommy & Dadddys house?

DH has finally rattled a few of the long term players and parents with his recent quest for greatness. Now he's got them asking WTF. Going to be a fun year.

You guys from Oakville are a bunch of frigging cry babies1 "Oh my kid is not good enough to make it anywhere else so he must be protected by the MOHA Board so he has a place to play." Grow up. If your kid is replaced by a better kid, stop whining and move on.

make the best team available.this is what it should be like..they do it everywhere else.AAA needed to change at least 4.could have done with a few more changes.the AA made the D better, but don't think the forwards as good as what left.Lets get dryland underway.

Changes have distance several of the faithful.Coach will have his work have a hard time keeping them next season. Will see if coach has the talent to win and keep everyone happy.Simple facts, team has won nothing major under this leadership.Imports coming in have the same record.
The win at all cost mentality could mean the end of this regime.
Time will tell.Pissed off parents on current team will start to make coach wish he was back in M.Atom.
Since team is 1yr away from thier draft, not being in a top program will not be tolerated.
Too much money spent without any major results.

NB is really focused on big things, between smokes, like making sure the players had the proper tracksuits and crappy jackets at games. Totally dropped the ball and missed the big picture stuff.

DH is an idiot. No coach should have a team this long. Bad for the coach, bad for the team and bad for the organization.

A new coach would have changed kids and the team would be better.

DH will have team for 2 more years then start over in Minor Atom.

The cult continues......

What I find amazing is that year after year this team cuts and brings in new kids with little to show for it. Maybe, just maybe, MOHA should consider changing the coach and see how that works out. Its not like he wasn't given a chance.

Maybe he's just a bad coach and the kids need some development.

You are not allowed to use the words development and the Oakville 97 AAA team in the same sentence unless you use the word NO. Given up on development. Bringing in has been rental players (imports) and charging more to be part of the program. Just when you thought it couldnt get worse.
