DH & I ran to the Venice, Italy and we joined Netflix today. I'm very excited about all these new travel dvds that we'll hopefully get by Wednesday.
I was wearing my ankle braces. The saleslady at the running store told me I should only run 5 days a week, not 7, to give my muscles a chance to rest. I was thinking but my fat won't rest! I enjoy running so much. It really helps me with so many things - especially anxiety. I don't take anything for anxiety so it's great that I'm running. After running, I feel, "ok, whatever happens" - much better than the "omg what IF, what IF" stuff that I go through all the time.
Just writing that sentence filled with anxiety was hard. I feel so incredibly relaxed right now! I love the peaceful feeling I get after running.
Wow, that was tough! Today was 59 minutes. I feel good, and sweaty. I wasn't in a lot of pain, just sometimes. Nothing like the searing pain I've experienced before. It was just a matter of stamina.
DH decided to try to do some HIIT or Interval Training, so he'd run super fast for 3 mins then stop and walk or just stop and then go again super fast for 3 mins. I can't really run that way. If I stopped it would be too hard to start again. I do tend to run faster at times, and then slower at other times, that's about the extent of it.
I keep thinking about that comment about "fat melting like snow", where it's denser, it takes longer to turn into water. That's true about fat.
Oh I am completely non-stressed out, but I was super stressed (about the home buying thing) before I started out. Running just melts away my stress.
I'm so happy! I am going to watch the Rajasthan one soon, it's about India. I want to go running tonight as well. My Scottish neighbor who is moving out into a lovely home in the best part of town told me that she's noticed that I've lost weight. I don't ask anyone to tell me anything like that, I just mention that I've been running. I told her that I ran to "Loch Etive" today in Scotland and it was really beautiful. I loved running to it - VERY beautiful!
I haven't lost poundage, but people say that they can tell I've lost weight. That's cool, losing inches is better
Rajasthan & Taj Mahal. I thought it was really beautifully filmed. Tomorrow DH and I will be running to it. I ran 19 minutes tonight with it and it really helped me with stress and anxiety.
I'm so glad I'm just an armchair traveler rather than actually going to these places. I love where we live and love to travel, but I'm not actually enamored of actually traveling. Going via DVD is great - you know the food (it's yours), so you're not going to acquire Deli Belly out there, or diseases, or anything. You're safe and sound at home with your family - how great is that?
There were some amazing temples I saw in this video while running. It was great running to it!

Today I went to the province of Rajasthan in India. It was pretty cool. Oh yeah I wrote about it yesterday, lol lol. Anyways, we finished that dvd. I'm not sure what I'm putting in next, possibly Egypt.
It was so fascinating that I did not even think about the run I was doing. I'm back on the tightest hooks of my 38DD bra, but not sure if I will be able to get into the next size, which will hopefully be 36E, yes E would be better for me rather than DD and Moving Comfort now makes bras in the E size. I'm just buying 2 bras at a time, so I don't spend a lot on bras.
I enjoy running so much! Last night I ran for 19 mins without my ankle braces. Woo hoo! Today I did run with them, and when I woke up the right one felt a bit swollen, but right now I feel fantastic. No pains whatsoever. I feel great, and energetic. A couple of days ago, when I first did 80 mins I was really fatigued for hours.
I'm planning on running again tonight for 60 mins. YES! That would mean over 2 hours of exercise today! My next goal will be to run 1.5 hours in the am, and 1.5 in the evening. I never thought I'd get here, but I'm so glad I'm here!!! I just want to brag to everyone that "I can run! I can run!!! ME! I can run!!" Wow. I just never thought that I could run, I'd always get out of breath, and fatigued, but here I am!
Today we saw this very preachy coral reef one (Coral Reef Adventure), with amazing photography. Thankfully, just 42 mins of preach preach preach. Then I put in the Discovering Egypt DVD. DH stopped running after the Coral Reef one and it was a nice change of pace. That one is a 2 hour one, so I only got through about 30 or 40 mins of it. I feel like I'm learning a lot! Very interesting! I'm glad I am doing this all from my living room.
85 mins means it's almost 1.5 hours of running for me - woo hoo! That is one of my daily goals. Thank goodness for netflix! I might have to up my dvd usage to 4 dvds out at a time instead of just 3 especially if I use 2 dvd's a day. Hmmm.
I tried to run back from the mailbox and it's just too awful to run outside on concrete and tar. It's so painful! I prefer running inside with crocs on carpeted floors where the impact won't hurt as much. I didn't even run far on the tarmac but still -- I don't know if I will ever be able to run outside in that harsh environment on my legs.
Today I had some knee issues with my left knee, but somehow it turned out to be fine after running for a while. Honestly, I do not think I really broke a sweat today at 85 mins! I don't feel burnt out, I'm not sweating to death! Maybe I just did not go fast enough? Hopefully I can run tonight and it will be better.
No agenda, just learning and seeing all about Egypt. I'm not totally through with this yet, I have to take more of the main tour, but we saw the pyramids, many temples, the Sphinx. It was really great. There were ancient cities. What a great learning experience while we're jogging at home!
I didn't even break a sweat, so that tells me I'm not putting enough effort into this. I do feel my buttocks and legs pulsing, but sweat? Not really. I did get tired too, but what a great thing to run to! I'm going to have to up the effort more, hopefully tonight. I have so much to do here at home, but hopefully I will get it all done! Priorities priorities priorities!
Hopefully I can finish this dvd up tonight and run with more oomph tonight.
Today I went for 93 mins. I tried one of the Living Landscape dvd's but those are really just for "relaxation". I'm sure they're great for it, however, not for running HARD. LOL.
I'm back on the 38DD tightest hooks on my sports bra. Tomorrow I want to do 2 hours of running in the am. Seriously. It's so cold here in the morning, but if I start at 8:30 am I'll be done by 10:30 am. Cool, eh?
Not too many aches and pains today. The aches and pains are getting less and less. It still KILLS me to try to run outside, on the concrete sidewalk.
DH was talking about "when we move into a home, maybe we should get a treadmill". IDK, they're loud and noisy and you have to keep fiddling with them. He has also talked about getting an elliptical as well. We'll see. Personally, I'm happy with what I'm doing now.
I watched Rudy Maxa - Mexico - FUN! Not preachy! That one was about 40 mins or so, then I put on IMAX "The Blue Planet" for 42 mins which was great until the last 10-15 mins when it got SUPER PREACHY. I hate the preachy thing. I'm just trying to run to interesting locales and keep my mind off of the sweating and exercise.
Anyways, I'm back on the tightest hook of the 38DD, so I need to buy a couple of 36 E's tomorrow at the running shop. They think I'm nuts to run every day AND run at home in front of my tv, oh and in CROCS with ankle braces! LOL. I don't think I'm nuts, just happy from running! It's wonderful! I am not a runner, but lately I think of myself as one! One day I'll be able to actually run outside in regular tennies, but who knows if I'll ever be able to do that? If I can never do that it's ok with me!
Netflix travel dvds are a total blessing for me to do this. DH was running with me, but only to Mexico. Hehe. He sat and watched the Blue Planet while I ran. We both loved it till it got to the preachy part.
I watched the wonderful Planet Earth documentary. I had to look away at some of the animal eating animal scenes but it's still an amazing documentary, and so beautiful! I'm hoping I get some more flix from Netflix today. Right now I have none!
I'm also going to buy that 36E sports bra at the local running shop today. Amazingly, there's been some movement DOWN the scale!
It's a beautiful day, and I have so much to do. I'm looking forward to running again tonight for at least an hour or an hour and a half.
I bought the 35E Maia bra today! Yayyy! I have gone from 42DD (really I needed an E all this time), to a 40DD (again, needed E), to a 38DD (again, needed E), to now a 36E - and it FITS!
I looked in the mirror, and I dare say I looked a bit slimmer in the hips. I asked the store to make sure that they stock 34E for me, hopefully I'll get there in a few weeks
DH joined me on both times! We watched Michael Palin's New Europe disk 1. Really great. This morning we saw....Planet Earth, another disk of it. Great as well.
I could have gone for another hour but dh wanted to stop. It's so amazing to me that I can run as long as I do now. I just can't believe I can do this, for hours at a time!
I did feel uber hungry for something fatty after dinner. I had more rice (we made Chicken Tikka Masala), and put a huge glob of margerine on it. And salt. It was delicious. lol. I know I shouldn't do that, but IDK, I wanted it.
I'm NOT hungry now though, and have lots of stuff to do tonight! Oh and we finished early enough so that DH can play his Call of Duty 5 game. LOL.
I beleive I started a month ago on the 10th of November 2008.
30 days.
I've gone from a 42DD (really I'm an E size) to a 36E. That's 4 bra sizes down from where I started a month ago. I'm so proud. One of my new goals is to run harder at 90 mins. I'm tired right now, but I'm not really dripping with sweat like I used to be. My pace is probably slow or the same as when I started, which has to be super slow.
I'm still sweaty and stinky, but nothing like I used to be.
I'm back in the 36E bra, so I'm really happy about that.
My new goals are: run faster and I would like to get to 34 E soon
I am watching the Michael Palin "New Europe" thing which is pretty great.
Today I ran for 90 mins with DH. We finished up the New Europe dvd disk 1 with Michael Palin. Now we're on disk 2. There's 3 to the set. After this we'll do Around the World in 80 days with Palin, then later we'll be watching I Claudius - the classic BBC series.
Unfortunately I have a headache today but I've already taken Ibuprofen. I'm also hopeing to run for at least an hour tonight. It's absolutely cold in here now and I'm wearing fleece. I don't want to put on the heat because we're trying to save for a home! I'm trying to be as frugal as possible!
I'm really hoping to do another hour of running tonight. I feel that I need to up my running time.
I can't believe I made it to 2 hours today! But I did! I started it while DH was asleep, and just ran to Michael Palin's New Europe disk 2. At hour 2, DH came down the stairs and started running with me, at first barefoot, then he slipped on some crocs that are around down there and started running. He kept begging me to stop! LOL. I kept telling him, no, not till 18 after the hour!
We made it. Michael Palin's travel shows are great and fun, but also there's some "EWWWWWW" stuff, like right before DH came down the stairs there was this Russian woman putting LEACHES on him! YUCK!
Anyways, I really feel that I've seen a lot of interesting and strange things, as well as some really beautiful things. Traveling in my living room via dvd is great. Actually, it's running while watching travel dvds. Great thing to do! I have TONS of travel films in my Netflix queue to watch.
I know I ran 2 hours today and wow, I just don't have the get up and go I did when I only ran for 90 mins. I feel rather peaked, and tired. I'm going to TRY to do things today as I need to do lots of stuff, can't rest.
