nice meeting all of you, fellow cat lovers..i am so concerned about my fiona. she has short black fur, with the most inquesitive green eyes. she has an agenda with every day thatpasses. i got her when she was barely 4 wks. old. so i became mommy to her. the 2 hr. feedings, potty training, every thing that a momma cat does to teach her babies to survive was my new responsibility. she is now 6 mos. and so alert and in touch with her people family, and she is very close to her adopted stepsisters (4 to be exact).fiona was living in trailer with a homeless family. in fact the family was living in my ex-son-in-laws trailer. due to the law, the family had to vacate the premises. my grandson found fiona alone and abanded. so thats how fiona, came into our lives. she truly was a blessing for me at that time in my life. i was physically and mentally not in a good way with my health at that time. we both needed each other in the worst way. just like our kids...they are very unique to us. well thats fiona. to us she is the most smartest and cutest cat around. am i right? we call her the "greeter" at our house. she recognizes the cars in our family. she also knows when its time for my daughter should be coming home from work. she'll sit by the fence and waits for her to get home. she puts on such a happy show every time.... she hates being left out when it comes to bonding with the family. she'll sit right in the middle of everybody and watches us talking and laughing.she truly enjoys herself. well...these past few weeks finoa has been so unhappy and in such discomfort...she has developed this dry skin and she scratches/ to the point where she bleeds. i am unable to take her to the vet at this time.(no job/no income).this really breaks my heart to have see in such discomfort. i have used a salive on her coat, it seems to work, but just for a short while. she hates it..not only is it a heavy ointment, but her stepsisters insist on licking her like a ice cream cone. poor fiona, she gets so p'd at all of them, then she becomes very defensive towards them. so in the house she goes, and she loves being outdoors during the day. she'll cry out to me, and lets me know that it hurts when she scratches...please,please does anyone have any advice for me? i am old school,,so im not afraid of old home remedies. i'll try anything at this point..its so unfair for fiona to have to be going through this..nothing worse for a parent to sit and watch a love one be in so much discomfort...as parents we are suppose care and protect. life should be a happy time for them. well thats that in a nutshell. i will wait for your response paitently.. thank you all so much! sincerely, always and forever a kitty/gata lover....sarah..
