The clutch spring was going to my first guess also. I've felt this same thing in several man. transmission cars, and it's been the spring that returns the clutch pedal to the "ready" position as soon as you take your foot off. If you have someone get down on the floor an listen as you press the pedal, you should be able to confirm this.
