I have a 2001 CRV SE and I purchased the Beneveto guard from JJ Products in the "smoked" tint. Installation took me about 10-15 minutes and no drilling was required. You do get the rubber nubs to stick on your hood as you mentioned so the deflector doesn't scratch it, but it looks really good if you follow the directions properly and place the nubs where they belong. It wraps around the front of the hood very nicely and completly stretches from side to side. As far as cleaning behind it goes, I can clean about 85% of the hood behind the deflector. If I wanted to clean 100% of it I could simply remove it which would take about 3 minutes but I am of the lazy kind sad to say so I opt not to do that. All in all the Beneveto looks very professional and custome to the finish of your CRV.
