Thanks for your input. I would tend to agree with you both except for the fact that it does NOT make the noise when the car is in neutral and the clutch is depressed, or when I am just turning the car on and depress the clutch to start the ignition to put it in gear; only when it is moving and changing gears. If it were the clutch spring wouldn't it do it all the time?? And today,on my way to work,I found that if I just used the tip of my foot to depress the top of the clutch pedal it did not make the noise at all. Pushing down squarely on the whole pedal still makes the noise as long as we're in motion. If it is the clutch spring, is this something that I should get looked at ASAP,before I take a long trip? If it goes does that mean the clutch just sits there and won't work or what?
