"Okay, keep these formations loose, and shoot right after you get a firing solution." Karl Jaeger said. "Thirty seconds." Karl Jaeger was inside the LVL-44 Scarab ship. In front of him were the control sticks (both thrust control and weapons control) on his left and right side, passive scanner, targeting sights, and ammunition read-outs. Farther in front of his ship he could see the near side of the moon, and the shapes of enemy ships. The passive scanner showed them at 20 seconds away. "Twenty seconds and closing. Deactivate the weapon safety command." His hands were sweating inside his flight suit gloves; he could feel his adrenaline pumping. He looked to his right to see thousands of other fighters, both Terran and Scarab. To his right he saw thousands of civilian ships leaving earth and heading towards the last known location of the Nomads. "Proximity warning! Proximity Warning!" His computer was blaring. "What's in proximity?" Zion 57 asked.
"I'm not reading anything!" Zion 113 said over the comm.
"I don't know, the fleets thirteen seconds away, no where near proximity." Zion 1 (Karl Jaeger) said. Karl Jaeger was looking around frantically, when he saw a distortion on the moon's image. Soon the distortion became the shape on an armada ship, and it started firing at Zion 1. Karl's ship was shaking badly, Karl and the others started firing wildly at the armada, forgetting about the fleet coming at earth.

John Madison (Zion 2) was flying between the explosions and armada, firing off his laser cannons, his energy levels were dropping to 16%. He saw to his left a group of armada and hit the afterburner, he deployed a Power Pod after he passed them, the armada got a clean hit to his fuel cord; but he destroyed seven armada ships. The liquid oxygen was venting out and freezing, creating an icicle going to the aft of his ship, his engines shut down into safety mode, and nothing worked anymore. An armada ship was closing in on Zion 2; it fired of one shot, hitting the liquid oxygen frost. Before Madison's ship was completely destroyed he saw a white light, and later noticed he was inside a hallway.
